This morning, I posted a pm on my BB asking what makes a
relationship strong? I also offered some hints... Is it money? Communication?
Sex? Trust? Understanding? Respect? Kids? Religion? Attention? Support?
Amazingly, over 45 people jumped on the hints. Some even
agree that all of them make a relationship strong and last longer. Some even
said once you have say, 7 of those things covered it will definitely be strong.
THEY WERE ALLLLLLLLLLL SOOOOOOO WRONG!!!!
That's why we are battling every day. We put the ABUNNA
before the horse.
The thinks that weaken a relationship are more important.
They look like nothing, but as they gradually eat into the vitals of the
relationship, the foundation begin to wobble and eventually cave in. That's
what leads to the irreconcilable differences you often hear about.
It is easy to quickly lump these micro killers under a
general factor, but trust me, dealing with them individually works better than
just saying "The problem we have, She does not respect me". Not
respecting is the final destination. There were many steps to that point.
When you fail to provide in the house, when you talk down
on, no show of gratitude, making others look down on, not involving the other
in decision making... Finally it builds up to the person short changed losing
all forms of respect. So it's not LACK OF RESPECT. it's what led to it.
I have seen a MUSLIM husband and a Christian wife live till
death put them apart. So it's not religion. You can practice different religion
but still be married longer than even Pastors. It's not about prayer is the
key... Do you treat your husband like the religion you practice say you should?
Do you relate with him like a friend? Do you forgive? Do you hold on to issues
that have been apologized for and bring same up like its fresh wounds?
Communication. What you say. When you say it. How you say
it. Which should not be said. Where you say it. Who you say it to.... May be
the reason that the foundation is shaky. You can't use the tone you use to talk
to your driver, plumber, brother, househelp... And think you have communicated.
If you say things that you ought not to say at all, and you now even say it in
public, TI RE TI BA e NIYEN. You want something but instead of saying you want
it, you are saying, "Even Bayo of all people takes his wife to the
movies!" You had better renew your DSTV... Because you are going no where!
Some women say men DONT give them attention. And, according
to them, it's very important in a relationship. Some men even say they DONT get
the attention they used to get like when they got married. Selfish bastard. She
is raising your kids, running the home, looking good for you and being a good
employee to a company, if she is employed. So, bear in mind that the attention
may not be like you used to get. And understanding matters. For women who crave
attention. A MAN WHO IS AT YOUR BECK AND CALL 24/7 is a liability.
Layabiliteeeee! So if you call or he doesn't call as often as he used to, it's
not lack of attention. It's hustle. Same goes for the woman. Like my wife, she
gets home sometimes 8 or 9pm... There are people who get home 10 or 11 sef
Finance, I agree without a doubt make a relationship
stronger. But it doesn't if that is used as the yardstick for judging the
strength of love. If it becomes a yardstick, then the person dropping more
rules the relationship and if there is someone with a deeper pocket, oleku!
Simple gratitude, sometimes matters more than sex. I mean
it. That someone calls you out of the blues to say thanks for that and this...
This and that, can make a relationship stronger. Some people do not know how to
say thanks. And on top of that, they will be giving people the impression that
the person they are with, is not doing anything. You had better put your mouth
where your money is. Because LOBATAN will be a word you will get used to when
the generosity is withdrawn. And you will fade into oblivion. Say thank you.
Say I appreciate what you are doing. Sometimes I tell my wife, thanks for
supporting me oooo. Nothing spoil. Thanks for accepting me the way I am OOO.
Thanks for making me a better guy. Be grateful. It's the two of you DAMN!
Very often you hear, I don't trust him again. It is not an
airtime credit that you just loaded. It is that message that you get that says,
your call credit has been exhausted PLS load an all in one card. Thank you.

visits, encouragement, settling small quarrels and telling you your
relationship is their model.
I would have written about the role of the family, but trust
me, you all know that well enough. Or has your African Movie Magic been

all the other things, but trust me, some people will only go to certain places
with you if you look presentable. This has nothing to do with love. Are your
clothes well put together? Do you smell well? A good smell, that announces your
arrival can delay your departure, I read sometime back. Even if you don't break
a bank, you can look good and groomed, with far less than you think. Start with
baffling, sponging, shaving, trimming, and the likes...
You are not a microwave. Stop getting hot for no reason.
Even for any reason, control yourself. If you look around hot tempered babes
are tolerated. Not craved. That your sharp mouth is for what? Are you a
Gillette brand ambassador? Cut it out!
Me, that is writing this much, do you know that, the amount
of time I spend on line has become an issue with my madam at the top. I had to
reduce it. No need to sacrifice my relationship to please some people. Same
people will be so delighted to read that my wife and I are quarreling over one message
some babe sent me online. So don't send messages, call me when she is not
around... HEHEHEHE

macro things that may seem like nothing but are significant tug at our

At the 5th anniversary of his tenure as Edo State Government, the governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole spoke to journalists about his life as a widower.
When he was asked why he's yet to remarry, Oshiomhole said:
I wish you would have avoided the question because really when I talk about my late wife, people may not understand why.
If you come from my background, any woman who agrees to marry a man who is not rich, a man who alternates between police stations and cells and lives in a one or two bedroom apartment, that is your real love. When my wife said I love you, it was from her heart.
To have the kind of wife I had, who was familiar with all the police stations in Kaduna and outside, and sometimes searching for her husband who might have gone to work and detained by Police on account of trade union work, it was her lot to stand by me and she bore all the deprivations of a husband you were never sure where he was going to be at the next minute.
At a point, she called me an absentee husband. So I looked around and imagined that she should have been by my side today to share the joy of my 5th year anniversary.
The only worry she ever had was who was going to employ our children owing to my agitations with big establishments, because as an organized labour, when we leave the NLC, we fear that our lives would be lonely because it would be a payback time for all those big people I have harassed in the course of my work.
So, it would have been joyous for her to see that five years down the road , I have more people around me than I have before.
Her second fear was that she never approved my involvement in politics because she was very proud to be referred to as the wife of Oshiomhole because then she gets all the favour and saw the affection because most Nigerians were happy with my stewardship at the NLC.
She was worried that once I get into politics, I would be ridiculed and all of that would go. She felt I should keep the name. But I told her even before I went into the NLC, NLC was a write off and I said you can always chose how you want to be remembered.
So for all that and for many other reasons, that is one thing that I regret that she should have been there to also see the other side of life.
I have seen it all, in this state now, they are people who will call me the oppressor and you know who they are, the oppressors of yesterday. If you ask ‘Mr fix it’ who I am, he will tell you I’m oppressing him because I have de-fixed him.
It would have been nice for my wife to see life’s full circle; that those guys who feasted on us and cheated, that we have reduced them to political vegetables and placed them on permanent political oxygen”.

In a chat with E247mag, at the premiere of Dayo Amusa's “Unforgivable,” which
held in October, popular Yoruba actress Ronke Ojo lamented that Nigerian men are
not real.
Ronke's emotions had been sooo stirred up after watching the movie that she

I say to people on a daily basis that I pity African women. Our men,
especially the Yorubas, see their wives as slaves. You have to go out of your

Popular on air personality Toke Makinwa disclosed during a recorded interview
recently that she and her long time lover, Maje Ayida were engaged but are too
busy to plan their wedding. Many folks doubted her on the social media, asking her
to prove her claim with an engagement ring.

Lagos-based lawyer, Mike Ozekhom, known for representing men who have stolen
public funds or caught in one act of corruption or the other, despite the obvious
charges of corruption against ex-Governor of Bayelsa State, Diepreye
Alamieyeseigha, he still defended him until Alams finally confessed and was
convicted.
Mike Ozekhome is also the lawyer representing Hon Farouk Lawan who was caught
on tape collecting a huge some of money from businessman Femi Otedola as
bribe. So we were not really surprised when we got the story that Ozekhome struck
a deal with the guys who kidnapped him with his son.
The good thing however is that this time Ozekhome entered into a deal that
enabled him to secure his life from the den of the dare-devil guys who kidnapped
him on August 23, 213.
The revelation is that Ozekhome's son and head of his chamber had gone to
secure his release with an amount that is not up to what the guys demanded for,
hence they rejected the money.
The two persons who had gone to secure Ozekhome’s release were said to have
told the kidnappers that they couldn’t raise up to the required amount and that
only their father could raise such.
Then a deal was struck. Ozekhome pleaded with the kidnappers to take his son
and allow him go so that he can raise the money they asked for. One week after he
was released to got the money for his ransom, Ozekhome paid the ransom to the
kidnappers and secured the release of his son and head of his chambers..
So, the truth is that Ozekhome was not actually released on September 12 as the
media was made to believe as he left their custody about a week earlier.
As you read this, Ulomma Ezeji, a flourishing businesswoman is on her way to
prison after she was caught at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in
Lagos with 645 grammes of cocaine by the NDLEA.
"I am a trader.
I import ladies hand bags, shoes and clothes, but I make
little profit in my business. My boyfriend told me that I can make four times
my capital in one successful drug deal. He has been persuading me for long.
I decided to give it a trial to expand my capital base. I invested N2.3m in the
deal."
38-year-old woman made this confession to officials of the National Drug Law
Enforcement Agency after her arrest at the departure hall of the airport during
screening of passengers. She was going to Turkey.
NDLEA Airport Commander, Hamza Umar, who confirmed her arrest, said,
“Ezeji
was found in possession of powdery substance that tested positive to cocaine on
her way to Turkey. We also gathered that she had invested N2.3m into the drug
business in anticipation of making high profit. The drug, which was carefully
hidden in her hand bag, was detected during screening of passengers.”
Ezeji, a native of Imo state, said she decided to take her boyfriend's advise
because of the high profit. She said, “Somebody was to receive the drug in Turkey
and give me my share of the money with which I had planned to buy goods in
France.”
In his reaction, NDLEA Chairman, Mr. Ahmadu Giade, said all those who wished to
make quick money from drug trafficking would end up like Ezeji, "in prison".
The crisis between Governor Sullivan Chime of Enugu State and his estranged wife,
Clara is far from being over as her family members say they are not mad people
and wondered why those in Enugu insulted them.
“Do the people you are seeing here look like mad people, or have you seen
any mad person since you came in? Please, we don’t have any mad person
here and nobody in our family has ever been mad. So, I don’t know where
Enugu people got the story that our sister is mad.”
These were the words of one of Clara's cousin, while answering questions from
Punch a the Amauda Isuochi village in Umunneochi, Abia State, where Mrs Clara
Chime hailed from.
The cousin who refused to give his name, asked the reporter, "Do I look like
someone who is mad?"
Funny enough, Punch reporter also interviewed the gateman in the compound,
identified as Williams, and here is what he told the reporter: “Since I resumed work
at the premises over four months ago, the people I have been seeing around are
very normal and well.”

Governor Chime, again.

The drama over the detention of Mrs. Clara Chime, wife of the Enugu State
Governor, Sullivan Chime, entered another chapter Sunday when the governor, with
the assistance of security operatives, sent her packing from the Enugu Government
House.
According to Thisday, Mrs. Chime’s personal effects were packed for her by the
governor and his security detail, and she was forcibly taken out of the Government
House to her mother’s residence at House 38, Coal City Estate, Enugu.
Mrs. Chime, who struggled to depart with her four-year-old son, was bundled into
a convoy of six cars and taken to her mother’s home.
However, on getting there, the mother who had not been notified that her daughter
was being brought home, was not at home which forced Mrs. Chime and the
security operatives to sit in their cars waiting for her mother to return.
After waiting for close to two hours, the governor, who was obviously embarrassed
that news of his wife’s eviction had leaked and was attracting journalists who
rushed to the mother’s estate, ordered that Mrs. Chime be brought back to the
Government House.
However, as early as 8am, yesterday, Mrs. Chime was again driven to the estate
and handed over to her mother who was said to have wept profusely on sighting
her daughter.
A young man who claimed to be living at the Boys Quarters in the compound
confirmed that the governor’s wife was actually brought back to the house in the
morning.
“Since morning, they have been having series of meetings. Just a while ago, the
governor’s wife left the house; she is expected back soon. you can wait if you wish
but I will advice that you call her on phone,” the fair-complexioned young man
who refused to give his name said.
Efforts by Vanguard to speak with Mrs Chime last night proved abortive as she told
newsmen that she was not ready to speak for now.
THISDAY learnt that the governor took the decision to drive away his wife because
she had petitioned the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) over her
confinement in the Government House against her wish.
Mrs. Chime, who had admitted suffering from a nervous breakdown over what she
alleged was as a result of her husband’s maltreatment of her, was however
projected by the governor last week as someone who is mentally unstable requiring
the administration of drugs by a doctor she does not trust and her confinement in
her bedroom.
Meanwhile, the NHRC yesterday said it had not conducted any medical
investigation to determine the mental health of Mrs. Chime.

What is the secret of your 17 year old marriage to Omotola?
I won’t say we have been good because I am a fine boy (laughs), but it is just the
grace of God. I am so lucky and also blessed by God to have married my God given
partner.
That is a very important thing about marriage, you have to find and marry your
God given partner. That is why a lot marriages breakup. Some men marry women
because of their hips, their boobs, legs and some other side attractions. But after
sex with her so many times, what happens next? Does she have a good attitude,
character or good human relationship with others? I am not saying we are perfect
couple, we have our own differences but we are compatible.
We have been married for over 17 years with four beautiful kids. One thing that has
been working for us as a couple is that I always encourage her to be who she
wants to be. I give her full support always. Lots of married women that are caught
cheating on their husbands could be traced to the fact that some of their
husbands don’t allow them explore their talents. I encourage my wife and kids to
be what they want to be.Most of the influential men and women we have in this
world didn’t even go to school. So it is all about exploiting your talents. Some
women love acting but their husbands won’t let them believing that other men
would touch or exploit them sexually. It is all about discipline. Those that want to

Popular academic, writer and activist, Dr. Festus Iyayi, is dead. He died this
morning in a car accident on his way to Kano to participate in tomorrow’s National
Executive Council Meeting of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASSU). The
meeting will determine if they will agree to FG’s proposal and call off the strike or
not. May his soul rest in peace.
A source close to top guns in the Academic Staff Union Of Universities (ASUU) has
revealed that lecturers will ditch their four month old strike this weekend so
students could resume on November 18 (next Monday).
The source said there was no way the union could reject the new offer of N220bn a
year tabled by President Goodluck Jonathan during a marathon meeting with ASUU
last week Tuesday.
ASUU had come out of that meeting to tell Nigerians it needed time to deliberate on
the new deal and reach a consensus among it members before talking to the press.
A top official of the union, has however said the government could not be trusted
even on the new offer, and that ASUU’s members were divided over the
government’s offer. He, however raised a beam of hope by saying the majority still
decided to give the government the benefit of the doubt.
As ASUU executives meet this Wednesday, if the fate of the strike is down to a vote
among the striking lecturers, as suggested by ASUU chairman, Nasir Fagge, the
four month old impasse may surely end this week.
ASUU went on strike July 1 over the non-implementation of a 2009 agreement it
had with the government with a key component of the memorandum of
understanding the allocation of 26% of Nigeria’s total budget to education.
Although the government is planning to allocate just 9% of the 2014 budget to
education, ASUU now seems set to end the strike after government offers that
would surely boost lecturers’ take home pay and improve varsity infrastructure.
