My Life Ambition Was To Win Gulder Ultimate Search And I Did It ––Dennis Okike

29yrs old Dennis Okike is a multi-millionaire today and the proud owner of a brand
new SUV, courtesy of his participation in the just concluded Gulder Ultimate Search,
2013 edition. He speaks with Punch on the show, his experiences and how it took
him three years to emerge the Ultimate Man. Enjoy...
Why did you decide to go in for Gulder Ultimate Search 10?
I had the craving to be a part of the show. I saw myself as being an Ultimate Man
someday. I have always had the dream. My friend, Uche Nwaezeapu, won the GUS
in 2006. He wasn’t as athletic as I was back then. He was just the guy next door
and didn’t participate in any sports while we were in school. Now, I started seeing
him on TV and he became the winner. So I felt if Uche could win, I could as well. I
prayed about it and from that day, I started working towards it...
So this wasn’t your first time of trying to be a part of the show?
No. this was actually the third time. The first time, I didn’t make the preliminaries.
The second time, I was evicted during the final selection and then this time around,
when I went into the jungle. I played all my cards well and I prayed so much about
it. I trained for almost eight months for this year’s search. I was always at the
stadium and the pool training for the search. I was just ready for it. I watched all
the past tasks they had in the other editions and I was just ready for anything
new.
That means just as Uche won, your life ambition was to be a part of GUS?
That is true, very true. When the show came out 10 years ago, I liked it. But I was
scared of the jungle. But when I saw Uche my friend doing it, I knew I could do it
as well. He was my best friend in secondary school. He coached me all the while;
he made sure I practised my swimming. He pushed me so hard. He told me that I
wouldn’t remember all I have gone through when I start reaping the fruits of it. He
was the motivational person I needed. I think I owe all of this to him.
When did you graduate from the university?
I graduated in 2009/2010. I attended University of Nigeria, Nsukka.
So you haven’t been working between then and now?
I was working in a bank. But it was a holiday job. I did my industrial training at
the bank and somehow, I went back after graduation and since I was close to the
bosses, they gave me a holiday job. I worked there for a while until I realised that I
needed to go back to school to settle some issues. I did and that was it.
So you went in for the show and even made it a ‘life ambition’ because you didn’t
have a job?
I think God has a way of planning my life. Everything went according to God’s
plans. Those who come for the search are mainly those who are less occupied. If
you had a nine to five job, I don’t think you would have the time to be a part of
GUS; that means you would quit your job. And then, what if you didn’t become the
winner after quitting your job?
How did you feel when you were declared the winner?
I told you winning the show was my priority in life. When I won, I couldn’t help
how I felt. It was overwhelming. I had to fall back into the water. How do I explain
being excited and happy at the same time? I couldn’t believe it. I was startled. It
didn’t get to me at first but when it did? I almost fainted. I got hit by N10m on my
left side and a brand new SUV on my right side so I fainted.
You raise the alarm at first even when you hadn’t found the piece you were asked
to…
Yes. I saw something. It was a bag of sand. I screamed that I had found
something. It turned out to be a bag of sand. But it didn’t deter me. I kept
searching. I asked myself what I was coming back to if I didn’t find the piece. I
didn’t mind breaking my nails and hurting myself. No matter what, I wanted to
come back home with the money. I had injuries but I didn’t mind. I took the pain
and I felt I would get the glory eventually. I was always reciting my favourite
Psalm- Psalm 53. I kept digging. I went to a spot where I noted that the other
contestants hadn’t gone. I kept searching. I found another bag. I didn’t want to
raise the alarm again. I pulled it out and the more I pulled, it got bigger. Obviously,
it wasn’t a sack of sand, it was the scepter. I went on my knees and thank God.
There were times I would have been evicted but I kept praying that the day
wouldn’t be my last day in the jungle.
What if you hadn’t won?
I still would have gone home with money. But the most important thing I am happy
I came for the show this year is that it gave me the opportunity to get a GUS
pendant. I longed for it. I wanted to be a part of the GUS family. I wasn’t keen
about winning. But when I got into the jungle and I saw the contestants, I realised
that I should win. Some of them hadn’t been through what I have been through in
life. Some of them are comfortable in life. I felt I hungered for it more. The hunger
kept pushing me. The longer I stayed in the jungle, the more I got weaker. People
felt I was losing focus but I am human. God just protected everyone of us.
You said you have been through a lot in life, can you tell us some of what you have
been through?
I have been neglected by friends. I am an only son and it sort of made me to be a
one man army. I grew up having the sense of being on my own. I had issues in my
family. My father was comfortable at a point but at a point, he got shot in 1998.
You know what happens when the breadwinner is not able to bring in money into
the family again. Things became bizarre. I can’t really say most of the things that
happened. Going through the university wasn’t easy at all. But I am this kind of
person that even if I wear bathroom slippers, I would still look good. I didn’t let
hardship get to me. I have tasted hardship.
So many people think what we see on TV is film trick; you guys don’t get to suffer
as much as...
I don’t think you were shown half of what we went through in that jungle. We
didn’t have tooth brushes. We didn’t brush our teeth for a month. It is a jungle and
you don’t have tooth brushes in the jungle. It was incredible. We were walking
casually into the jungle not knowing what was in stock for us. We had to go into
the mud for the mudslinging game. That was when reality dawned on us. Before
then, we were lounging and relaxing in the hotel. In the jungle, I went without food
for two and half days. I was being punished for an offence. We slept under the
rain. We had bamboos as beds. We had roaches, mosquitoes and rodents all
around us. We went through a lot.
Was there a time you felt like quitting?
I wanted to give up on the fourth day. But no girl complained. If no girl
complained, how could I have been the first to quit? I had to endure. Our food
weren’t tasty but we had to eat it. we just wanted the stomach to be filled up.
Initially I thought we would go and take shelter somewhere if it rained. But that
wasn’t the case. Rain or shine, we were in the jungle. It wasn’t the most wonderful
experience but I thank God.
Was it all worth it, even with the N10m?
It was worth it.
You didn’t have a good relationship with the other contestants…
I wouldn’t say it that way. I didn’t want to be lukewarm. I wanted the fire to
continue burning in me. I didn’t want to continue joking and laughing and playing.
At a point, I felt it could make us forget the reason we were there. They said I was
quarrelsome, I was just being defensive. I don’t like being bullied.
What is next now?
A new phase of my life has begun. I don’t have to rush. I had my plans before I
went to the jungle. Now that I am out, some plans might be altered. Better plans
have come. I am not going to sit down and start spending the money. My plan is
to see if I can double the money.
What of your girlfriend?
I don’t have to say anything about that. I will keep living my life. I live a decent life
and I will not have issues. I will not bring out my private life in public.
Old friends must have resurrected now since you won?
You don’t need to ask. There was a point in my life my phone didn’t use to ring.
But now, it is crazy. And the thing is that you cannot be rude to anybody. My
callers even call by 2am. It has been crazy. I now have to live with it. It is my cross
and I will carry it humbly.

Ghanaian minister fired for saying she plans to make $1million from politics

A Ghanaian female deputy minister has been dismissed by the
country’s President John Dramani Mahama after she allegedly said
she will not quit politics until she makes at least one million
dollars.
Deputy Minister of Communication, Victoria Hammah, (pictured
above) was sacked today, a day after she was heard in a leaked
tape to radio stations saying she would not quit politics until she’s
rich
The voice purported to be that of Victoria Hammah is heard telling
a female companion
“I will not quit politics until I make one million dollars. If you have
money then you can control people.” She also criticized another
minister, the deputy minister of gender, children and social
protection, Rachel Appoh, in the leaked tape. She said “it was
useless for the deputy minister to fight Nana Lithur whose
husband is friends with former President Jerry Rawlings and was
President Mahama’s lawyer during the 2012 election challenge.
She cannot boast of 100,000 Ghana cedis or 100,000 dollars.
The Ghanaian government released a statement today announcing
her dismissal, but didn’t give any reason for the sack. That’s how
politics works in Ghana. She was sacked for what she intended to
do and not what she’s done already. Nigeria should learn from
this. #dropsmic!

Guy Proposed To Girlfriend Dressed As A Homeless Man

Mike King was known as a prankster. He decided to play a prank on his girlfriend,
Katie Barabas . He would propose to her while dressed as a homeless man.
There's a good reason behind the idea -feeding the less-fortunate was one of the
activities they enjoyed doing together.
The 22-year-old proposed in front of fellow Feed the Homeless volunteers in
South Bend, Indiana, and his friend and filmmaker Cody Clemons helped record
his partner’s shocked reaction. While Katie was passing out meals to the less-
fortunates, he approached her and told her how she was 'kinda cute'.
Watch her reaction as he held out the ring.....

‘[When] he took of his mask and got down on one knee and I was in complete
shock and in such joy,’ said his bride-to-be.
The happily engaged couple plan to invite the homeless from the Feed the Hungry
campus ministry to attend their reception.

Nigeria Wins FIFA U-17 World Cup! Sets New Record

The final kicked off with tensions on both sides. After 5mins of play Nigeria scored
it's first goal. The most effective players in the fisrt half were, Yahaya, Alampasu,
Dias and Rodriguez. The Mexicans started better in the 2nd half but they soon
found themselves behind after an outside shot from Musa Muhammad was pushed
back for a rebound kick which was well delivered by Kelechi Iheanacho to make it
second goal for Nigeria.
They also pressed forward to get a goal but the Eaglets were stronger in defence
and they converted their play to possessive football. About the end of the game, a
foul at the edge of the box was spotted by the Referee. Musa Muhammad filled
with confidence converted the ball directly into the box to get a 3rd goal for
Nigeria.
It's 4 titles for Nigeria on the Asian soil. Its another proud record. Alampasu
desrves the Man of the match award. Nigeria has also set the record for higest
goals scored by a team in the U-17 World Cup, scoring an all time high 26 goals.
All hail the Eaglets. Manu Garba won this trophy as a player and as a coach. Time
to be a Nigerian, PROUD ONE.

Photo: Innocent People Killed In Alaba Market By Robbers During Bank Raid On Tuesday

It was a horrible, bloody Tuesday at the Alaba International Market, Ojo, Lagos,
when a gang of heavily armed robbers attacked staff of new generation bank who
were transferring money from a branch of the bank to another.
The armed robbers killed two policemen and four others in the process, while
several other passerbys sustained injuries during the escape bid of the bandits
who snatched a large sum of money from the bank staff.
According to Vanguard, the bandits had positioned themselves at a strategic
location in the market and opened fire on sighting them, killing the policemen and
a yet to be identified woman on the spot before snatching the money.
The bandits were also said to have shot indiscriminately in a bid to escape which
led to the death of three other persons whose identities are yet to be ascertained.
When Vanguard visited the market, most of the traders were seen in clusters
talking about the incident.
Some of them blamed the bank for not providing enough security while making
huge cash transfer, while others called on the police authorities to track down the
hoodlums.

Boy Suspended for Wearing Purse to School Because EVERYTHING IS FUCKED

A 13-year-old Kansan boy was suspended yesterday for wearing a Vera
Bradley purse — and school officials say he can’t come back until he takes it
off. Please note: this is real life.

The boy, Skylar Davis, awesomely and bravely refused to take the purse off,
and so the school called his mom. Because that's a much better use of
everyone's time than, you know, ACTUAL EDUCATION.

"I was a little furious, and I called the school to reverify the story, and yeah,
he refused to take off his Vera Bradley bag, nothing more to do it,” said
Davis' mom Leslie Willis “Skylar has been going to school since August with
that same Vera Bradley bag on, hasn’t taken it off. What is the problem?”
Yes, what exactly is the problem? Because if he's not carrying around dead
body parts in that purse, these assholes need to leave him the hell alone.

Also, it should be noted that Davis' is successfully rocking a Vera Bradley
purse and that is NO EASY FEAT. Kudos, my friend.
Although Davis' initial suspension was for one day, he now says he won't
return to school until they treat him fairly. “It expresses myself and I think
everyone else can wear it, so I wear it as well,” Davis said. Damn straight:
rock that floral-themed dream!

“Jim Iyke Will Suffer For Breaking My Daughter’s Heart” – Nadia Buari’s Mother

For leading Ghanaian actress, Nadia Buari on and making her believe he would
settle down with her, and finally breaking her heart, Nigerian actor, Jim Iyke will
suffer untold hardship, according to the mother of the heart-broken Nadia, Hajia
Buari.
The love birds were so close and appeared so much in love and everyone thought
that it was just a matter of time before they tie the knot, until Jim posted on his
Twitter handle that he was not going to marry the Ghanaian beauty, while Nadia
herself responded by deleting Jim’s pictures from her Instagram account.
After the celebrated break-up, Hajia Buari, according to a Ghanaian entertainment
site, had this to say: “They were great together. They were like a couple and we
thought they were heading for the altar. She was very connected to him.”
“She has talked to me about getting married and having children. She plans on
settling down but not right now. She has to focus on her career. That Nigerian boy
will suffer for daring to break my baby’s heart,” another source in Ghana quoted
the angry Hajia Buari as saying.

: Gbam! Cossy Orjiakor Insures Breast For $1.6 Million

Controversial Nollywood actress and singer, Cossy Orjiakor, has been approached
by an American company to insure her breasts for 1.6 million dollars
The American company that approached her, Enhanced Silicón Inc, is believed to
be responsible for insuring the breasts of famous foreign celebrities including Dolly
Parton and Pamela Anderson.
Cossy is expected to travel to Los Angeles in about two weeks to formalise the
contract. Speaking on the insurance, Cossy said, “I specifically asked for $1.6
million, to show Stella Oduah that you don’t have to misuse public funds to get
what you want.”
Reports say the contract includes clauses that limit the number of times people can
touch Cossy’s breasts in a month and that each breast will now be treated as a
separate person. The implication of this is that Enhanced Silicon Inc. will
henceforth, decide the amount producers will pay per breast, for appearance in a
movie.
While Cossy seems pretty excited about the deal, she said, “The downside of the
deal is that I may get dressed more often now.

Pasuma's convoy crashes and kills a Fan

A convoy of Wasiu Alabi Pasuma has crushed a teenage fan of the fuji star to
death. The fan simply identified as Bidemi was killed by the artiste’s convoy at
Idimu where Pasuma performed at an event at St. Augustine Events Hall along
Lisau Road in Alimosho Area of Lagos on the 24th of October 2013.
The deceased who lived around Council Area of Idimu within the Isheri/Idimu LCDA
had no knowledge that death was lurking around the corner when he sighted the
music star and joined the cheering crowd who cheered the artiste after the event.
Pasuma had finished performing live and had wriggled his way through the crowd.
Eyewitnesses said that when Bidemi moved near to Pasuma, who had already
taken his seats in his newly acquired Range Rover and was behind the wheel, the
fuji artiste rammed into the teenage fan with his car and knocked him down while
he was about to leave the venue in the midst of the cheering crowd.
It was said that Bidemi was writhing in discomfort on the spot following the
accident when Pasuma’s security vehicle that was coming behind smashed the
teenager’s head, and he died immediately.
According to eyewitnesses neither Pasuma nor his team spared a second to rescue
the victim when they were told of the incident some few metres away. Instead they
drove off amidst jeering cries from sympathizers.

How I Caught Two Actresses Having Sex - Yoruba Actress Exposes Lesbianism In The Industry

In a recent interview, Yoruba actress, Bose Arowosegbe reveals the marriage issues
that Nollywood is facing and why, in her opinion, some of them would rather be
with married men.
She also talks about her experience in witnessing two actresses having sex.

See her response:
On her challenges in the industry:
The biggest challenge is patience, having to wait for your own time. Then
there is the issue of seniority when some people older than you in the
industry expect you to accord them some docile kind of respect, like, not
addressing them on a first name basis. These people expect you to call them
"aunties" even when you are older than them in real age.
On how acting has affected her marriage:
Even though marriage hasn't prevented me from acting, it has definitely
prevented me from taking up certain roles in my films. Even when I shot my
4th production "Akoda Oro" my husband was on set with me. I just delivered
my baby then.

Marriage has limited what role I can play again in films. I cannot take part in
a sex scene, real or unreal, either in my production or other productions. And
nothing can make me go totally nude but I can wear seductive dresses
because when I am with my husband I still wear them. I can never go nude
or play sex scene but I can be seductive. Before I was married, I wear
seductive dresses anywhere but now I only wear them when I am with my
husband.
On Lesbianism:
I have heard about it and I have seen one with my own very eyes.

It happened when two friends came to visit, then three of us had to share a
bed. As we were on the bed with my back turned to the other two, I felt some
movements and I turned, alas, the two other girls were at it, doing it. I was
simply aghast and dumbfounded. I watched them transfixed for about two
minutes and then gave one of them a slap.

She looked at me and asked if
she had touched me or what. I was so mad that I started shouting at them.

The other one was just laying down while the one I slapped was working on
her. she said she didn't know and thought I was also part of it but I shouted
'God forbid'. She then started crying and I told her to desist from associating
with the other girl again.

On marriage to married men:
I am married to a married man too. I have not told anyone this before. Other
journalists I have met were fed the story that my husband is abroad when he
has always been in the country.

Most single men out there are not matured enough to handle the fact that
actresses are normal women. They believe we are harlots to be used and
dumped. I believe they are too immature to handle the life around us. They
are easily affected by things they read and hear about us, and also things
they see on screen about us.
But married men are matured to handle all this. They listen to us instead of
listening to gist about us. They seem to understand women better. Besides,
they are more caring, gentler and wiser.

Official Statement by Mavin Records on Wande Coal's Exit

An official statement from Mavin Records regarding Wande Coal's exit from the
label...
It is with deep regret that we officially announce the departure of recording
artist Wande Ojosipe, popularly known as Wande Coal, from Mavin Records
due to irreconcilable differences.
Over the past few months, Mavin Records has made a concerted move to
consolidate its position in the Nigerian music industry. Mavin has pursued a
renewed ethos to raise its standards of quality and professionalism to a
world-class level. Wande’s vision has not aligned with ours and a few
months ago all parties mutually agreed that a separation would be the best
course of action.
Legal parties on both sides have spent the past six months trying to reach
an amicable solution in terms of musical property rights. However the
decision by Wande Coal to release ‘Baby Face’ purportedly as his own
material is a direct breach of intellectual property law and compelled an
immediate clarification on our part.
Both Mavin Records and Wande Coal have enjoyed a remarkable run in the course
of their working relationship. It is unfortunate that conflicting priorities contributed
to the premature curtailment of a hitherto fruitful accord.
Mavin Records reaffirms its goal to constantly provide high quality music to our
fans and introduce new and exciting talent into the industry.
We wish Wande Coal the best of luck in all his future endeavours.

Governor Chime & Wife Admit She Was Detained… But It Was In Her Best Interest

Governor Sullivan Chime of Enugu State has confirmed reports that he is keeping
his wife incarcerated, but that he is doing so in her interest.
According to Saharareporters, Gov Chime said:
“I wanted the best for her and that’s why I pleaded with the doctors to have her
treated at home.
That’s also why I allowed her access to her telephone and laptop which
unfortunately led to the stage where I’m now being falsely accused of imprisoning
or detaining my own wife.”
With his wife, Clara Chime by his side at a press conference in Enugu, Gov Chime
disclosed that the battle concerning his wife’s health situation commenced even
before his inauguration in 2011.
“It was so bad at a time that she had to be taken out of here (Governor’s Lodge)
for treatment.
When she stabilized, I pleaded with her doctors if she could be brought back here
to be receiving her treatment at home and they graciously accepted.
There was a time she was confined indoors and that was strictly on her doctors’
advice. She’s here and she can confirm or deny it.
Also, the doctors then advised against allowing her access to telephones and
laptop.”
Asserting that he would never say or do anything to undermine the dignity of his
wife, he said his “big blunder” was to have allowed her access to the telephone
and her laptop, against the advice of her doctor, a mistake for which he is paying
dearly.
“Her brother is here, her doctor is here with us too. You people (journalists) can
confirm anything you want from them, either here and at your convenience.
Would I have been a better husband if I asked her to leave the Lodge because of
her medical challenge? Would it not have been more convenient for me if I allowed
her to stay and be treated in the hospital?”
Offered a chance to speak at the press conference, for a long time Mrs. Chime was
silent, ignoring persuasion from her husband and her brother.
At a point, her brother Tony took her to an adjacent room where they spent a few
minutes together before returning to the table. Tony then declared that she was
willing to talk but Mrs. Chime dramatically delivered only another round of silence.
Eventually, the First Lady said:
“You (referring to the governor) and my doctor can speak on my behalf.”
To that, the governor politely replied:
“Yes, I’m your husband and should ordinarily do so but you know I’m the one
being accused of detaining you. This way, I’ve lost that privilege to speak for you,
at least on this case.
The story out there also is that your doctor is probably scared of me and gives you
all kinds of drugs, sometimes against your wish.”
Mrs. Chime merely said:
“My doctor and I don’t have any problem.”
Concerning the petition to the NHRC, she corroborated an earlier text message she
had sent to her husband that she had not met Falana or engaged him to seek her
release from a purported unlawful custody.
But she admitted that she wrote a letter to Dr. Agumuo and another doctor
overseas to whom she was introduced, but said she did not know how the letter
leaked to the public.
She also admitted that she was once confined to a room without access to her
telephone and laptop. “That was when I had a serious crisis,” she said.
Mrs. Chime also confirmed that she has the key to her room and controls her entry
and exit, contrary to the claim in the petition that she had been locked up for
asking to be allowed to leave.
Her grouse was that she had not been allowed to leave the premises, but it was
learned that she attended Mass last Sunday.
Governor Chime chipped in:
“All I want to reassure you is that she is safe here. Her confinement within the
premises for now is at the instance of her doctor who is here. Why would I want my
wife locked up? If it had been that I had issues with her, there are many ways to
resolve them.
But that’s not the case. She is not well and I’m willing to do anything to support
and protect her.
It was always more convenient for me to have taken the easier route but that
would have been very callous and ungodly.
When I had my own health challenge, I was receiving treatment in London and
thinking about her, making sure she received the right treatment. I’m forever
grateful to her doctors who have done a great job.
Both families are billed to meet very soon and after that, I’ll take a decision which
will be in the interest of both parties.”
Challenging the petition to the IGP by Mr. Falana, the governor said:
“He’s my professional colleague but sometimes you leave people to their
conscience. I won’t join words with him. Has he met this client of his as he
claimed to assess her state of mind and determine if she can give him the right
brief to guide his case?
Did he ask for access to her or to me and was denied? I leave it at that.”
He described the development as the penalty a public officer faces, adding that
when he was receiving treatment in London, some of the newspapers reported that
I had died in India.
“I’ve never been to India and had never applied for an Indian visa. Today, the
story is that I’ve imprisoned my own wife in my residence.
I know their motives but I wish those behind such wicked tales well.”
He did not identify the people or their motives.

Black Woman Shot to Death for Asking for Help in a White Neighborhood

Last Saturday morning at around 2:30am 19-year-old Renisha McBride got
into a car accident in Dearborn Heights, a predominately white Detroit
suburb. Because her cell phone battery was dead, she went to nearby home
for assistance. That might seem like the reasonable and understandable
thing to do, but it was the biggest mistake of McBride's short life.
The unnamed person who answered the door didn't offer to help the
stranded teen out, instead the Dearborn Heights resident fatally shot
McBride in the head.

Weirdly, Dearborn Heights police initially told McBride’s family that her
body was found dumped in another area of town, but they've since changed
their story, saying she was shot in self-defense on the homeowner’s front
porch. Naturally, Michigan is a Stand Your Ground statesound familiar?
As Rania Khalek points out:
Even if that’s the case, and there’s reason to believe it’s not, the
shooter still failed to call 911 after shooting an unarmed woman
in the head, instead leaving her their to die. Does that sound like
the behavior of a law-abiding gunowner who made a tragic
mistake?

No. No it does not.
Police have asked Wayne County Prosecutor's Office for charges to be filed
against the unnamed resident who shot McBride.

We'll see how well that
pans out.

Christian Teen Would Rather Drop Out of Big Race Than Wear Number 666

A Kentucky high school runner recently cut her season short when she opted
not to run in regionals. She wasn't injured, or sick, or tending to a family
emergency. No, she dropped out of the race because she was assigned the
number 666 and thought that if she ran wearing that number, it would
threaten her relationship with The Man Upstairs. You know what God detests
more than a number John the Apostle dreamed up while he was tripping on
the Bible times equivalent of acid? Quitters.
Whitley County High School junior Codie Thacker says she asked for a
different number after she found out that race officials had assigned her
666, but they refused. And here's what happened next, according to Lex18 ,
Cross country coach Gina Croley knows her students, so when she
pulled the number assigned to Thacker, she knew there might be a
problem. "I saw it and I was like, 'whoa,'" she said. "I don't think
she will wear that number."
"666" is, according the the bible, the mark of the beast. Thacker
couldn't bring herself to run while wearing "666" because of her
faith. So, she and her coach tried to get a different number. They
asked three different officials. They were told no three different
times.
"I didn't want to risk my relationship with God and try to take that
number," said Thacker.
Look, everyone's got a right to practice religion; it says so right in the
Constitution. But let's be pragmaticwhen the practice of one's religion
evolves from life-affirming guidebook to Be A Better Person into neurotic
adherence to meaningless rituals and fear of symbols, then it becomes
limiting. And I can't imagine that an all-loving, all-powerful God like the
God Christians worship would pleased by a young woman backing away
from the chance to showcase her ostensibly God-given talent because some
computer spat out a number she didn't like. If God is real and and perfect
and all-powerful, then He wouldn't put His followers through bullshit Crazy
Girlfriend-style tests to make sure they love him enough.
Thacker's move wasn't met with eye rolling by her coach, but with praise,
which I'd understand if Thacker exercised her faith by doing something like
refusing to run against an opposing coach who had gotten away with
abusing his students, or donating her shoes to a barefoot homeless person
she saw outside of the school and running the race barefoot or skipping the
race to volunteer for disaster cleanup. But, like, quitting because you're
afraid of a number? It just seems like a sort of missing-the-point expression
of religious faith.

I don't "get" America sometimes.

WOW : ANTY RAPE PANT?

So we’ve already had the rape alarm and rape sprays and I’d be lying if I knew
one friend who carries either of them, so which clever cloggs thought it would be
a good idea to come up with the anti rape pants?
The underwear is designed using straps and webbing that prevent them being
ripped, cut or torn. thus deterring a rapist and reducing the likelihood of an attack.
Designed by American apparel company AR Wear through crowd funding the sporty
looking boy shorts can be worn underneath a fitting dress or tight jeans inspite of
its skeletal structure.
We uncovered all the different types of pants that rep women in last weeks article
Big Pants or Sexy Thong, but this knicker didn’t make the cut… I wonder why?
Paranoid is the only word that keeps coming to mind!

Women Who've Had Weight-Loss Surgery Get Laid a Ton More

Female bariatric surgery patients are reaping more than just the physical health-
related benefits of weight loss. According to a new study, women who've had
gastric bypass or Lap-Band surgery not only reported better sexual functioning,
blood tests showed they had an improvement in reproductive hormone levels.
For the study , which was published in JAMA Surgery , researchers examined 106
women who had undergone bariatric surgery, tracking their progress since 2005.
The women—who'd lost an average of about 65% of their original body weight
within the first two years following surgery—were asked to fill out surveys about
their sex lives and their blood was taken to test hormone levels.
Two years after the surgery, women said they had improvements in their overall
sexual functioning, and improvements in arousal, lubrication, desires and
satisfaction.
They also said they had better quality of life in most categories, better body
image and fewer depressive symptoms just one year out of surgery, with the
positive changes persisting through the second year.
So while the women's sexual satisfaction could be attributed in part to a
confidence boost from having a better body image, there's also an internal
change, as blood tests showed they "experienced significant improvements from
year 1 to year 2 in total testosterone and follicle-stimulating hormone levels."

Photos: Groom, 103, Marries his 99-year-old bride after 80 years together

This Paraguayan couple met each other, fell in love and moved in together in
1933, six years before the outbreak of World War Two.
And eighty years later, they decided to cement their relationship - by getting
married.

Jose Manuel Riella, 103, finally vowed to give himself to Martina Lopez, his 99-
year-old bride, during a ceremony attended by dozens of their family members,
their eight children, 50 grandchildren , 35 great-grandchildren and 20 great-great-
grandchildren.

As guests wiped away the tears, Mr Riella, who wore a smart dark suit and a light
blue shirt, sat in his wheelchair and smiled at his wife, who wore a long white
wedding dress.

After the vows there was an ‘entertaining’ party and the priest who presided over
the Catholic ceremony said they were the oldest newlyweds he had ever married.

Banks To Replace ATM Card With Finger Print By Next Year February 14!

The Central Bank of Nigeria and the Bankers Committee on Tuesday sealed a
biometric solution pact with a German Firm, Dermalog, for the development of a
payment system that would be driven by fingerprints.
What this means is unlike the current practice where different instruments are used
as means of identification, bank customers will from 2014 be identified through
their fingerprints.

Sanusi, while speaking at the signing of the agreement, which was held at the
central bank’s headquarters in Abuja, noted that the system would become
operational on February 14, 2014.

This move followed the recommendation of a sub-committee chaired by the Group
Managing Director, Zenith Bank Plc, Mr. Godwin Emefiele. *winks*

The cost of the project is above $50m and the banks, in their wisdom and in line
with their collaborative efforts, are going to be sharing the cost of the project, and
no customer is going to be charged for this project.
