How We Live Now: Newly- Engaged Couple Met on Instagram

"Where would I be without Instagram?" Dennis Lafargue asked on Good
Morning America Monday. Dead? KIDDING! He just wouldn't be engaged to
Elizabeth Wisdom, a woman who lived states away from him and who he
met through the photo sharing social media service known as Instagram, or,
to the cool kids, The Gram.
You heard it here: selfies -> love. Lafargue and Wisdom first came into
contact when he found a photo she'd posted of a trip to Crater Lake, Oregon
on her feed, and commented on it. (He also told GMA that he'd looked at a
photo she'd posted of a tattoo she'd gotten of some scripture and liked that
she was a Christian.) They followed each other and started to comment back
and forth, eventually taking the relationship to the next level and deciding to
meet in real life. They were together for nine months before Lafargue
proposed in June, by using 30 Instagram photos they'd taken while together
to lead a path to a barn at Wisdom's grandmother's house that she'd always
wanted to be married at (and where they will get married).

Lafargue and Wisdom definitely aren't the first Instagram love success
story; earlier this year, Molly Erman wrote a piece for The Cut about dating
a man she met in a similar fashion. For Instagram, this is a commercial
waiting to happen, especially because all the work has already been done
for them, good-looking couple and all.
