Woman Trying to Drive Father To Hospital Arrested By Saudi Police

A Kuwaiti woman arrested in al-Khafji, a small Saudi town close to the
border of Kuwait, is still in custody "pending investigations" after illegally
operating a motor vehicle. Her father, suffering from diabetes, could not
drive and had to be taken to the hospital for urgent treatment.
Kuwaiti women do not face as many restrictions as their Saudi
counterparts. Women are eligible for jobs as judges, officers, and royal
guards, and are by law equal to men. Also, they can drive their diabetic
fathers to the hospital as they damn well please.
