Top five football manager rants

1. Ian Holloway
While Sir Alex Ferguson remained relatively composed
during the Wayne Rooney transfer request saga of
2010, Holloway, then in charge of Blackpool , didn't
hold back. It was obviously a scenario that angered
the Bristolian, who informed everybody involved that
they were "wrong" and compared Rooney to a house.

2. John Sitton
Why Sitton agreed to have this particular half-time
team talk filmed, only he knows. He'd seen his side let
in three goals against Brentford and wasn't about to
hold back during the 15-minute interval. He threatened
some players with the sack, while he also offered to
fight others, bizarrely saying: "You can bring someone
else to help you, and you can bring your f***ing
dinner.

3. Kevin Keegan
As the 1995-96 campaign progressed, the pressure
started to take its toll on Keegan. His side had thrown
away a 12-point advantage to Manchester United and
after some mind games from Ferguson, the Newcastle
boss embarked on his "love it" tirade during an
interview with Sky Sports in the final week of the
season.

4. Paolo Di Canio
With his Swindon Town side beating Huddersfield
Town 1-0, Di Canio was sent to the stands by the
match official. After the final whistle, the fiery Italian
had still not calmed down, having insisted in no
uncertain terms that he would not change his
behaviour on the touchline for anyone.

5. Rafael Benitez
Just as he had done with Keegan in 1996, Ferguson
got under the skin of his Liverpool counterpart Benitez
during the 2008-09 title race. When asked for his
reaction to Man United manager's recent comments,
the Spaniard pulled a piece a paper from his jacket
and proceeded to read out a host of "facts".

Genevieve Nnaji and Mikel Obi Co-Star In A New Movie

Chelsea football star, Mikel Obi has made his
Nollywood debut. Weeks after pix surfaced online,
showing the Nigerian soccer star with Genevieve in
South Africa, we can now confirm that Mikel was
actually in SA to star in an inspirational movie
alongside superstar actress Genevieve Nnaji. The
movie is titled The Journey, and we can confirm it's
sponsored by leading malt brand Amstel Malta.
The Journey centres on the superstars' journey to
success; how they started out, the story of their
challenges and the glory of where they are now. The
movie is to be premiered at the Africa Magic Viewers'
Choice Awards on the 8th of March, 2013. Going by
the trailer, this movie is definitely a must-watch...

Footballer Samuel Eto's Baby Mama Exposes: He's 39 not 32

Sometime ago, I discovered that a friend of mine is
playing under 21 in Nigeria and according to his data
he is just 20yrs old. I was shocked! But I later
discovered that it's called football age. If you try to
expose the truth many people will hate you, they will
say you are an "enemy of progress". So, the lies
continue

Could this be the case with Samuel Eto'o? Anything
is possible. It seems Chelsea coach, Jose Mourinho,
is one of those who doesn't believe that Eto'o is just
32-year-old. In the words of Mourinho: "The problem
with Chelsea is I lack a scorer. I have Eto’o but he is
32 years old, maybe 35, who knows?"
But his ex-lover, Anna Barranca, who has an 11year
old daughter with him, has exposed Eto'o...

The 43years old lady said Eto'o is not 32yrs as he is
claiming but that he is 39yrs old going on 40yrs.

Below is what Anna Barranca told The Sun UK:

"I think Samuel is not 35 [as Mourinho suggested] he
is more 39. Samuel was born in 1974 and so that
makes him 39 now.' She claims she was informed of
Eto'o's true age when they were dating by a friend
who grew up with the footballer in Cameroon.
Anyway, Eto's official documents states that he was
born in 1981. Who do we believe?

SEE What Happened to Arsene Wenger after Arsenal's 5-1 Loss

Oh dear... he just couldn't take the humiliation. Arsene Wenger fell
down flat on his way home after his team was thoroughly beaten by a
superior Liverpool side with a wide margin of 5 - 1. This man needs
bed rest...

Juan Mata Writes an Open Letter to Chelsea Fans (MUST SEE)

Hi everyone, As you can imagine this is a very
important day in my life, and with these lines I
would like to express the memories and
emotions that come to me as I write. This letter
is written from my heart, and first of all I
would like to say that I will never forget all the
affection given to me by the Chelsea fans.

From the very first day until the last. With
your support and affection I have grown up as
a player and I have had an amazing time both
on and off the pitch. I will always feel the
gratitude towards you. Always. No words are
enough to give back all the things I have
received. There has been plenty of good
moments: the FA Cup, my first trophy as a Blue;
the immense happiness of winning titles for the
first time in the club’s history, such as that
magical Champions League night in Munich and
the Europa League.
On the other hand, I have experienced some
complicated situations from a personal point of
view, mainly during the last six months. Every
message I got through the social media, every
nice word you have said to me on the street,
and of course, your support in the stadium, has
made me feel incredibly proud of the Chelsea
fans; you deserve a team like the one you’ve
got, with so many fantastic players. I won’t
forget the faith you put in me when I was given
the player of the year award the last two
seasons. I feel really proud and I will never
forget those nights. Thank you so much for the
way you have treated me, you have been
unbelievable.
I hope you understand that after going through
a complicated and, for me, new situation in the
last few months, I believe this is the best choice
in order to carry on with my football career
and to keep enjoying this sport. Before last
summer, my intention was to stay here for a
long time; as long as the club wanted me to,
and to keep winning trophies for Chelsea FC.
This is how happy I was in the club and in the
city. However, as you all know, things changed
after the preseason. From feeling like an
important player, I started to experience some
difficult situations and I felt unable to help the
team to the extent that I wanted and was used
to. Obviously, I fully respect the circumstances.
Football is a team sport and it’s not easy to play
regularly in such a good squad. In sports you
may win or lose, but the most important thing
is to give everything. I hope you know and feel
that I have always done so. In every game, in
every training session, without exception. I
have always tried my best for the club. I would
like to emphasise the affection, admiration and
respect that I’ve had for my former team
mates since the first day. I want to thank the
captains for their help and understanding at all
times. They made me feel comfortable when I
arrived and they have supported me throughout
the difficult times this season. I thank all my
former team mates for these two and a half
years and I wish them the best, personally and
professionally, for the future. Of course I have
been closer to some of them, but the most
important thing is that my years in Chelsea
have left me with great friends. Friends forever,
football rivalries aside. I also want to highlight
the day-to-day job of every member of the
Chelsea staff: medical team, kit men, staff at
Cobham and Stamford Bridge, media and
marketing department, Chelsea TV team…
All of them are very important in making this
club a great one. Thank you for your treatment
and your efforts to make the life of the players
easier. Furthermore, thanks to every manager I
have had the pleasure to work with during my
time here. They have all been a big help for my
progression as a player. I have always respected
their decisions, whatever they were; they made
me more mature and a stronger person. You
learn from everything, and certain situations
make you think about other team mates who
are coping with similar situations more
regularly. Thank you Andre for giving me the
opportunity to join Chelsea FC. Without your
support, none of this would have happened. To
Robbie and Rafa, for their unlimited trust in
me. And to Jose, for making me a stronger
player, because in difficult moments, I have
learnt to remain positive and to keep working
hard. Lastly, I want to thank the Club, and in
particular its owner, Roman Abramovich, for
trusting me and making an important
investment when signing me. Also for their
understanding regarding my situation over the
last months. I’m very glad to have been part of
the squad that made his and our dream come
true: winning the Champions League on that
unforgettable night in Munich. Additionally, my
years in Chelsea have been profitable for the
club, which I’m very pleased about. I want to
make clear that the stage that now comes to an
end has been extremely important for me,
personally and professionally. Although many
of you, like myself, never thought this moment
would come, this is football and a new chapter
is about to begin. I would have liked to say good
bye to all of you in the stadium, or in a press
conference, but it has not been possible. I’m
sure I will be able to do it in the future,
because that is what you deserve. Evidently,
today is a day of mixed feelings, remembering
the past and looking forward to the future and
what it has to bring. I look forward to being
happy and to enjoy what I like the most: play
football. I will never forget my time in Chelsea
and the affection I take with me, I will keep
forever. I wish you the best. A big hug to all of
you. THANK YOU so much, Juan

Keshi Is Africa’s Best Coach But I Want To Beat Him – Ghana Coach

Coach Maxwell Konadu of the Ghana Black Stars on Tuesday
said that the respect he had for the Super Eagles Coach,
Stephen Keshi, would not distract his team from their
objective.

Konadu said at a pre-match media briefing at the
Bloemfontein Stadium, South Africa, that he would not allow
Keshi’s intimidating pedigree to stop him and his team on
Wednesday.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the two West
African neighbours and football rivals, would trade tackles in
one the semi-final matches of the ongoing African Nations
Championship (CHAN).

“I quite agree that Keshi is currently the best
coach in Africa; but I will want to add that
football does not always follow logic.
“Sometimes the best coach loses, and we cannot
rule that out in tomorrow’s match.

“Some of the best coaches who came to this
tournament have been sent packing with their
teams, because they crashed out earlier than
expected.
“I respect Keshi and all he has been doing for
Nigerian football in recent times.

“But talking about tomorrow’s match, you can
be a good coach and on a day your players are
not playing well, there is nothing you can do,’’
he said.
The match between the Super Eagles and the Black Stars
would kickoff at 7.30 p.m. Nigerian time, at the Bloemfontein
Stadium, in the Free State Province. (NAN)

Former Aston Villa player- Thomas Hitzlsperger Makes History As First Premier League Player To Come Out As Gay

Thomas Hitzlsperger,31, has become the first Premier League
footballer to come out as gay. The German international midfielder,
who ended his playing career in September due to persistent injuries,
said he came out in a bid to break the taboo of homosexuality in
sport.

Thomas Hitzlsperger told Germany’s Die Zeit newspaper that now is ‘a
good time’ for him to reveal his sexuality…

According to BBC Sports ;

Former Aston Villa midfielder Thomas Hitzlsperger has revealed he is
gay.
The 31-year-old, who won 52 caps for Germany and also played for
West Ham and Everton, made the announcement in newspaper Die
Zeit.
He is the most prominent footballer to publicly reveal his
homosexuality and said it was “a good time” to do so.
“I’m coming out about my homosexuality because I want to move the
discussion about homosexuality among professional sportspeople
forwards,” he added.
The midfielder said he has only realised “in the past few years” that
he would “prefer to live together with another man”, adding: “I’ve
never been ashamed of the way I am.”
However, he said the issue is taboo inside the dressing room and it
had not always been easy to live with some of the comments dished
out on the subject.

I Never Knew Mikel Could Score Goals - Mourinho Speaks!

Jose Mourinho was left to reflect on a job well
done after this afternoon's 2-0 victory at Derby
in the FA Cup.
Like at Southampton on Wednesday, the first
half was entertaining and end to end, if shorn
of goals, and like at Southampton it needed a
second-half header to open the scoring.

After Michael Essien was replaced John Mikel
Obi took the captain's armband, and, on his
300th appearance in a Chelsea shirt, capped his
day with a goal, thumping home Willian's free-
kick with a bullet header.
Oscar added a second soon after, swerving the
ball past Derby's keeper Lee Grant with a fine
strike, and the remaining minutes were played
out in relative comfort as we eventually eased
into the fourth round, where a home tie with
Stoke City awaits.
Jose Mourinho said he was delighted with his
side's attitude against a side going well in the
Championship…
'The game was difficult,' said Mourinho. 'In the
first half we played quite well, we were not far
from scoring but it was still 0-0 at half-time
and that is a big risk, because after that if the
opponent scores you are in trouble.
'They got the message that in the second half we
needed an extra intensity. I decided to change
Essien for Eden Hazard to bring an extra
attacking player on to make it more difficult
for them.
'The team played seriously, we won, job done.'
It was a landmark day for John Mikel Obi, in
many respects…
'I never recognise his ability to score goals!'
the Portuguese laughed.
'I recognise his ability to play as an
anchorman, to play that position in a very
comfortable way, with no mistakes. He reads
the game well, plays in an intelligent and
safe way, but I never recognise his
goalscoring appetite.
'There was a smile on my face [when he
scored]. For some reason Essien gave him the
armband, normally it should go to Ashley
Cole, so maybe it made him believe he was a
goalscorer!
'It was important for us, we were dominating
and dominating, creating and creating but the
goal was not arriving. It was like the winning
goal.'

SPORTS UPDATE :- MESSI SLAMS BARCELONA BOSS

Barcelona star Lionel Messi has lashed out at a club vice president
who said the Argentine didn't deserve an improvement on his contract.
Javier Faus, the vice president in charge of Barcelona's finances, said
two weeks ago he didn't see a reason to extend Messi's contract again
after the club had already done so last year until 2018.
Messi has responded by telling RAC1 radio that he hasn't asked for
another extension, saying "Mr. Faus is a person that doesn't know
anything about football and wants to run Barcelona like a business,
which it isn't."
Messi adds "Barcelona is the best team in the world and deserves to be
represented by the best executives."

Iheanacho Leaves For Man City

Golden Eaglets forward, Kelechi Iheanacho, is set to join English
Premier League side, Manchester City. The player left having been
released on Monday from the Super Eagles camp in Abuja by
Stephen Keshi. Iheanacho was in camp for the Championship of
African Nations billed for South Africa in January.
A statement from the Eagles Media officer, Ben Alaiya, on Monday
confirmed Iheanacho’s departure for England. The PUNCH however
could not get a confirmation from City of any such move as at
Monday night.
The youngster was the Most Valuable Player at the recent FIFA
U-17 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates. The competition was
won by Nigeria after defeating Mexico 3-0 in the final match.
Keshi was quoted by Alaiya as saying that he had to approve the
departure of the player after his father, James Iheanacho, personally
put a call to him on Monday afternoon requesting the release of his
son for the trip to England.
Keshi said, “Initially a young man came declaring that he was the
agent of Iheanacho, but I declined to deal with him until I hear from
the family because the boy is still a minor.
“It was soon after my rejection that I got a call from his father who
told me that they have got travelling visa to the United Kingdom
and that I should oblige him with his son’s release. I did and told
the young man to go and do the nation proud at whichever club he
finally chooses to settle down with.”
Keshi acknowledged that Iheanacho is a talented player but also
cautioned that the player should be handled gently and
professionally as he navigates his professional career. The player’s
transfer has been one of controversies since he made the headlines
at the FIFA competition. It started with several people stepping up
as agents for the player and then it was followed by different price
tags placed on him. The choice of European club to join soon
became a thorny issue between the player and his father such that
the player left home unceremoniously with the father allegedly
declaring him missing.
But apart from the Iheanacho move, the Eagles also trained on
Monday. The national team cancelled their second Monday training
session after it appeared that the close to three hours morning
training session may have taken its toll on the players.
“We have to be cautious not to push the players too hard so that
nobody will break down,” Keshi said.
