Top five football manager rants

1. Ian Holloway
While Sir Alex Ferguson remained relatively composed
during the Wayne Rooney transfer request saga of
2010, Holloway, then in charge of Blackpool , didn't
hold back. It was obviously a scenario that angered
the Bristolian, who informed everybody involved that
they were "wrong" and compared Rooney to a house.

2. John Sitton
Why Sitton agreed to have this particular half-time
team talk filmed, only he knows. He'd seen his side let
in three goals against Brentford and wasn't about to
hold back during the 15-minute interval. He threatened
some players with the sack, while he also offered to
fight others, bizarrely saying: "You can bring someone
else to help you, and you can bring your f***ing
dinner.

3. Kevin Keegan
As the 1995-96 campaign progressed, the pressure
started to take its toll on Keegan. His side had thrown
away a 12-point advantage to Manchester United and
after some mind games from Ferguson, the Newcastle
boss embarked on his "love it" tirade during an
interview with Sky Sports in the final week of the
season.

4. Paolo Di Canio
With his Swindon Town side beating Huddersfield
Town 1-0, Di Canio was sent to the stands by the
match official. After the final whistle, the fiery Italian
had still not calmed down, having insisted in no
uncertain terms that he would not change his
behaviour on the touchline for anyone.

5. Rafael Benitez
Just as he had done with Keegan in 1996, Ferguson
got under the skin of his Liverpool counterpart Benitez
during the 2008-09 title race. When asked for his
reaction to Man United manager's recent comments,
the Spaniard pulled a piece a paper from his jacket
and proceeded to read out a host of "facts".
