Woman Allegedly Stabs Fiancé Over Wedding Colors

Wedding colors are the first step down the petal-strewn path to
bridal insanity, but it usually isn't this bad: The AP reports that
a South Carolina woman allegedly stabbed her fiancé after an
argument about their palette.

According to the cops, the victim was attempting to leave the
house and therefore the argument when she struck. The accused
has been charged with criminal domestic violence of a high and
aggravated nature.
Fortunately, the injuries were not life-threatening. Good thing
they weren't doing the seating charts.

President Obama Signs Military Anti-Sexual Assault Bill

On Thursday, President Obama signed a bill pushing back on
the ever-growing numbers of rape and assault victims in
America's armed forces.

Under the new defense bill, military commanders can no longer
overturn jury convictions for sexual assault, reports The
Associated Press, and that's not all.

It also requires a civilian review if a commander declines
to prosecute a case and requires that any individual
convicted of sexual assault face a dishonorable discharge
or dismissal.
Defense officials beat back efforts to more drastically
revamp the military justice system that would take
authority away from commanders and allow victims of
rape and sexual assault to go outside the chain of
command for prosecutions.

In 2013, the reported number of assaults in the military
increased by 50 percent. This might be because more victims felt
comfortable coming forward, a good thing because more stories
were shared and more soldiers were able to recognize sexual
assault and harassment in action. That wasn't the case before,
when many victims felt they would receive negative treatment
from their ranking officers and co-workers if they reported
their own, or someone else's, abuse.
Still, the military has much more work to do in cleaning up its
ranks. Programs like "If you see something, say something" have
been instituted for soldiers and some branches have restricted
alcohol sales to prevent sexual assault and harassment. Others
have also publicized the court martials of those charged with
sexual assault so their peers can see the results of their actions.

"We're still not where we want things to be," said Col.
Alan R. Metzler, deputy director of the Pentagon's sexual
assault prevention and response office. "But we think all
of this is having an effect."

Women Who Drink Could BeAt Higher Risk For LiverDisease Than Men

Alright everyone, say it with me, because it's time to play my
favorite game here at Jezebel: "A study has found!" Today, a
new study says women are more vulnerable to certain effects of
alcohol than men, because their bodies tend to be smaller and
they have less water in them.

Dr. Howard Monsour , chief of hepatology at Houston Methodist
Hospital, said women who have a genetic predisposition to liver
disease should consume alcohol only in moderation, or lay off
that shit altogether:

About 20 to 30 per cent of the population has a genetic
disposition to cirrhosis of the liver and Monsour said it is
important for people to know if they have a family history
of cirrhosis before making the decisions to drink large
amounts of alcohol.

Oh great, even deadly diseases that want to slowly and painfully
kill you are freaking sexist now. When are we going to finally
get a break; geez. "When women drink the same amount less is
dispersed and the concentration is higher. They also have a
lower activity of a metabolising enzyme in the stomach called
alcohol dehydrogenase (ADH)," said Dr. Monsour .

ADH helps convert alcohol to acetaldehyde, which
eventually is metabolized to carbon dioxide and water.
This causes a larger amount of the alcohol to reach the
blood and eventually in susceptible persons can lead to
cirrhosis of the liver, a disease that normally has no
visible signs until liver damage is too extensive.

And don't think you can try any of that LOL I SWITCHED FROM
VODKA TO BEER SO I SHOULD BE FINE NOW stuff, either. Dr.
Monsour said it's amount of the alcohol content people need to
pay attention to, not what kind of alcohol they are drinking.

I sure wish science would just make up its mind about alcohol
once and for all. Oh sigh.

The Official List Of TOP Ten Worst Nigerian Governors Of 2013

Despite the accolades the activities of most
Nigerian governors remain a hype, the work of
aggressive Public Relation stunt. A close look at
the work of these shrewd shaddy politicians
always reveal much more than meets the eyes.
Behind the curtain is systematic looting and
money laundering activities going on and
everyone is involved. Despite the shameless
corruption some of these governors have done
relatively well or have been percieved to have
done well.

Today we are discussing those who haven’t
done much or upto expectation, those who don’t
even know why they are governor. We are
looking at the first ten starting from 10 to
number 1.

(10) Delta State Governor : Despite the huge
revenue allocated to Delta State, Governor
Oduaghan hasn’t been able to bring remarkable
change to Delta State. When we hear what
people like Governor Rotimi Ameachi have been
able to achieve in Rivers State, his Delta State
counterpart is not known for any serious
infrastructural development. Oduaghan became
governor like most governor. He was the cousin
of the previous governor, James Ibori, who is
now languishing in a London prison after he
was found guilty of money laundery.
Oduaghan’s government is characterised by
sorrounding himself with friends and family
members and making them rich to the
detriment of the state. He has spent almost eight
years as Delta State governor and we haven’t
seen anything remarkable yet.

(9) TA Orji of Abia State is the worst governor
in Igbo land for 2013. In Nigeria he came as
number 9. The people haven’t seen anything
like dividend of democracy and many Abia
indegenous people have personally called to say
he is the worst governor in Nigeria. NEWISSUES
categorise him as number 9. His people expect
much from him but in the end governance to
some of these men in government is about
personal business and wealth accumulation for
themselves and their friends.

( 8 ) Kebbi State Governor Dakingari is
number 8 on the list. After talking to many
people in Kebbi State, they seem to all agree
that the man hasn’t done much. The good thing
is that the man doesn’t talk too much.

(7) FCT Minister Bala Muhammad, is the
number 7th on the list of the worst governor in
2013. Forget the title FCT Minister, we consider
the 37th Governor of Nigeria. Bala Muhammad
is going on record as the worst FCT Minister in
the history of the FCT Admiistration in Nigeria.
The FCT Minister is just doing anything but as
those who know him say, accumulating wealth
for his campaign for the 2015 Bauchi State
Governor election. His posters and billboards
are already all over the Bauchi State capital. He
has been accused of land racketeering. The FCT
administration is shamelessly corrupt and
nobody cares. Bala Muhammad efforts at
reforms in the transport area is the worst and
ludicrous. It is obvious that all the FCT Minister
cares about is generating revenue to the
detriment of the people. Under his nose the FCT
will demolish then later collaboarate with the
natives to sell these plots again. The man simply
lacks idea and Nigerians wonder why he hasn’t
been replaced. We heard it is because he is a
very good friend to Patience Jonathan, the First
Lady.

(6) Lamaran Yero of Kaduna state. After
Yakowa died his assistant became the governor
of Kaduna State. Governor Yero has not been
able to do anything since then. As a young man
people expect dynamic leadership in a conflict
State. Governor Yero hasn’t shown that he is a
promising leader.

(5) Murtala Nyako of Adamawa State is
number 5 worst governor on our list. Being an
old man one would think the man would do
something spectacular to leave a legacy for his
people. Nyako did nothing. He has been busy
throughout this year fighting the president.
That is more important to him than his people.

(4) Gabriel Suswan of Benue State and Isa
Yuguda of Bauchi State. These people have
made it to number 4 of the worst governors in
Nigeria. Suswan has not been able to pay
salaries, even to primary school teachers. In the
area of development, not much is on ground.
Benue is still one of the poorest states in Nigeria
in terms of infrastructures. Since 1999 Benue
State has been lucky with governor and Gabriel
Suswan is the worst of them all.
Isa Yuguda was once quoted as saying former
governor Muazu has done everything, so there
is no need to do anything. Muazu was
overwhelmingly voted in the first term despite
leaving the PDP to join the ANPP. He would
have lost if not for the rioting in 2011 but after
the CPC rioting he won. Isa Yuguda hasn’t done
much and if in 2015 the PDP lost to APC it
wouldn’t be because of Goodluck Jonathan hate
in the North
The worst three governors in the Nigeria is
coming soon.

(3) The third worst State Governor in Nigeria
is Kogi State Governor, Idris Wada . Since
becoming governor no one can pin point what
he has done in the area of human or
infrastructural development. Reckless, his
convoy had an accident twice within a short
while, one killing his ADC and the other killing
the former ASUU boss. Wada like his
predeccessor Ibrahim have not been able to do
what Prince Abubakar Audu did in Kogi State.
Wada is the third worst governor in Nigeria.

(2) The second worst governor in Nigeria is
Murtala Nyako. The old man hasn’t done much
in his State. One would think as an old man,
Murtala Nyako should do something different
for posterity to remember him. Murtala Nyako
is busy with the whole PDP and APC politics,
has been so absolve in it, you will think he did
something in his state. The man is a total
failure as far as governance is concern.

(1) THE WORST GOVERNORS IN NIGERIA
FOR 2013 ARE Niger State Governor,
Babangida Aliyu and Governor Tanko Al
Makura of Nassarawa State.
Babangida Aliyu, nick name the Billboard
governor is known for displaying his billboard
all over Minna, the Niger State capital. The
governor had the billboard of him and his
daughters made when his daughters got married
some couple of months ago. We don’t know if
the billboard were with his personal money or
State Government’s money. The road to Minna
from Abuja and the roads around Minna are
some of the most terrible roads in Nigeria.
Babangida Aliyu is one of the most noise
making and unpopular governor today in
Nigeria. Nobody takes him serious anymore in
Niger State. With his education and eloquence a
lot of people expect transformation.
Tanko Al Makura, Nassarawa State governor,
on the other hand was the only governor under
CPC before the merger. Winning under the CPC
ticket one expected him to work. One expect
him to do something with the opportunity and
to promote Muhammadu Buhari’s ideals. Al
Makura hasn’t done much. People all over
Nassarawa State are already complaining
bitterly about his government. He has divided
the people rather than bring them together, for
instance, the Imbatse issues. The Nassarawa
Youth Congress leader, Ajen Bako, when talking
to NEWISSUES said “Nassarawa State is still
toddling.” He described Al Makura as a failure
already even before his tenure elapse.

Boko Haram's Shekau Says Their Killings Is Victory From Allah

If this man Shekau is really alive then he needs
psychiatric attention. The Boko Haram leader
has claimed the responsibility for the daring
December 20 raid on a military barracks in the
North East in a new video.

The insurgents stormed the barracks in the
town of Bama in a convoy of trucks before
sunrise, opened fired on the soldiers inside then
torched the compound. Several witnesses said
the gunmen kidnapped soldiers as well as
women and children.
“Our fighters stormed the Bama barracks,”
Shekau boasted, while seated on a mat and
flanked by a group of armed men.
“This is a victory from Allah,” said the wanted
man after claiming to have destroyed “21
armoured tanks” and killed “multitudes” in the
raid.
The military is yet to release a death toll from
the barracks attack but sources say the figures
are high.

BREAKING NEWS: Governor Adams Oshiomole Involved In Serious Car Accident

Governor Adams Aliyu Oshiomhole survived a
motor accident at Ewu Village along the ever-
busy Benin-Auchi road in Edo State at about
9.45am Saturday, 28th December 2013 on his
way back to Benin City from his Iyamho
Village.

The incident occurred at about 9.45am at Ewu,
in Edo Central Senatorial District, when a
Peugeot J5 Bus filled with tomatoes and
plantains apparently lost control and rammed
into the Governor’s Flag Car from the opposite
direction before swerving into a roadside ditch.
Three vehicles in the Governor’s convoy were
in front of the Governor’s Flag Car and had
passed the Peugeot J5 Bus before it [J5 Bus] had
direct impact with the Governor’s car, which
had the Governor, his Aide-De-Camp [ADC] and
his Driver as occupants. The Governor’s Car
was badly affected but both occupants of the
Peugeot J5 Bus and that of the Governor’s
sustained no injuries.
The Peugeot J5 Bus was following a truck that
was descending the Ewu Slope when it suddenly
veered off into the Governor’s lane from the
opposite direction and directly impacted on the
Governor’s vehicle, apparently because of brake
failure. The good story is that nobody sustained
injuries in both vehicles. The Comrade
Governor is hale and hearty, his ADC and other
occupants of the Peugeot J5 are also in good
condition.

The incident has been reported to the Divisional
Police Station at Ewu for further investigation.
This is to assure all good people of Edo State
that there is no cause for alarm. Their loving
Comrade Governor is fine, hale and hearty as
well as other occupants of the other affected
vehicle. The Comrade Governor is wishing
everyone a prosperous new year ahead.

Seven Words Ladies Use In A Conversation And Their Meaning (MUST READ)

1) “Fine” – This is the word women use to end
an argument when she knows she is right and
you need to shut up.

2) “Nothing” – means “Something” and you
need to be worried.

3) “Go Ahead” – this is a dare, not permission,
don’t do it.

4) “Whatever" – A women’s way of saying
screw you.

5) “That’s Ok” – She is thinking long and hard
on how and when you will pay for your
mistake.

6) “Wow!” – This is not a compliment; she’s
amazed that one person could be so silly.

7) “KK or K” - This should simply be referred to
as an indirect insult to your existence; infact I
suggest if you are chatting to a girl on bbm and
she uses either of these words, please delete her
immediately because she is indirectly
saying, “ Yo Bruv, LET ME BE please! you are
BORING! ”

Men & Women: How To Manage Your In-Laws and Live In Peace

In Nigeria, a man’s in-laws are major part of the family. In some
cultures, a man’s in laws are perceived as his gods. When you are in
a long-term committed relationship, it is inevitable that you and your
lover interact with each other’s families. Some men, though, never
leave the influence of their families – especially their mothers, the
tension of this tends to create problems that bubble just beneath the
surface, exploding when other situations in the relationship are tense.
The easiest way to avoid in-law problems is to...
Establish friendly but strict boundaries. But for these boundaries to
work, you and your man both have to enforce them. If that were easy
to do and he could be relied on, there would not be the tension that
exists. Add to this mess, fundamental personality conflicts, and you
have the basis for something that could destroy your relationship.
There are many common in-law problems that a wife or girlfriend has
to deal with, and there are some solutions that can at least make
these bad situations less destructive to a love partnership.
Sometimes, mothers-in-law show up and try to take charge. What do
you do if your mother-in-law shows up with ideas different form yours
on how to run the house? What if she insists some household
products are not necessary, and you realise that they are necessary
for you to keep house ? Or that she thinks her son is spending too
much money on running the house or taking care of you?
While you have to interact with his family, distance can help. If you
treat her with respect and deference when on neutral territory, you can
assert control over your own domain. Also, having other engagements
that force you to leave as she is arriving (real or imagined
engagements) might make her feel unwelcome without having to take
it to a confrontation.
When it comes to visiting his mother, he is in charge. Relinquish any
responsibility for making time for the visit and planning the trip to her
place. Cooperate of course, and even encourage him to get there
early. This will make leaving on time all the more easy.
If he complains that you do not cook like his mother or clean like his
mother, it might be time to think back to some conversations you
have had with him. He might have griped about his mother in the
past. This is the perfect time to bring up the things he has said he
dislikes about his family. You are his partner, not his mother and he
needs to be firmly reminded of this in as direct terms as possible.
While the two of you are a couple, there are things of yours that he is
not entitled to lend. If you two have a joint bank account, he has no
right lending money from that to a relative. If he lends a relative his
own money and then is unable to pay bills or contribute to the
relationship as before, this situation needs to be addressed. He needs
to be the one to take charge in asking for the loan to be repaid or
valuable property be returned.
One secret to make mooching relatives go away is to be careful in
sharing the successes you have in life. If you brag about your new
promotion or show off your wealth in any way, those less well off than
you might be envious. And some of your husband or boyfriend’s
relations might be so bold as to ask for some of what you have
earned. Consider it the admission price to bragging rights.
As much or more, tension can occur when you are on the borrowing
side of an in-law money-lending situation. When your in-laws loan
you money, they may have the feeling that they can tell you what to
do with your lives. Often, with an employment situation that involves
working for your in-laws, your job doesn’t end once you leave the
shop or office. Suddenly, you are expected to fulfill all sorts of
domestic demands from your new business .
The only way out of this is to pay off what you owe and get away from
relationships that have a suffocating effect on you. Or better yet, just
never borrow money from an in-law. Pressure to have children is the
number one source of tension between in-laws and the woman who
marries their son. In Nigeria and the entire Africa, marriage
fundamentally means that a couple will be procreating.
This subject needs to be thoroughly discussed and agreed upon
before you two even announce your engagement. If you have two or
three children and an in-law is pressuring you to have more against
your will, you have to either ignore this pressure or insist that your
spouse address it along with you to the person who wants to direct
your reproductive activity.
Expectations are one of the most important reasons to meet and
mingle with his parents before you go too far in a relationship
commitment. If they have expectations that you will be adhering to
specific cultural norms that differ greatly from yours, this needs to be
confronted, examined and understood by everyone, most importantly
your spouse.
Even after marriage, a mother-in-law might insist that you live up to
certain religious or ethnic ideals in your dress, diet or habit.
Understand that many people use these moral codes as a way to butt
in to your private life. Once you let her butt in, she will never butt out.
Do not challenge your in-laws on this most sensitive subject, but do
not let them oppress you with their cultural ideals.

The Lebanese Boss Who Beat Up A Pregnant Woman In Lagos Has Been Arrested

The Lagos State Police Command on Friday arrested Kaveh Noine, a
manager with Toppan Printing Company, who was said to have kicked
his pregnant subordinate, Alice Ossai, in the stomach two weeks ago,
causing her to lose her 7-month-old pregnancy.
According to Lagos State Police command: “In the course of our
investigation, we discovered that Noine was still in the country;
he had fled to Kano. Our men traced him to Kano, arrested him
and have brought him back to Lagos. Presently, he is making his
statement now at the command. The issue of [his] bail has not
come up for now.”
After the story broke on Tuesday, President Goodluck Jonathan, three
days later, directed that the police and the National Human Rights
Commission investigate the matter, expressing his displeasure over
the incident.
Lagos Police PRO Ngozi Braide said, "Even before President Goodluck
Jonathan ordered an investigation into the case, the Lagos State
Police Command has been on it."
34-year-old Alice, a mother of one, was said to have developed pains
in her tummy which lasted for two days before subsiding. The pains
were said to have begun again in the early hours of December 16,
2013, resulting into an emergency surgery at a private hospital at
Fagba.
Her seven-month pregnancy was lost as a result of the kicks she got
from the Lebanese man.
She also disclosed that Noine was in the habit of physically
assaulting workers at the company with anything he could lay his
hands on, whenever he is angry.

Female Comedian Princess 7-Month-Old Marriage Crashes

Marriages involving female entertainers can only last when they learn
to drop their fame in the bedroom and in the kitchen. This is mostly
the problem as they often want their husband to treat them like their
fans do.
It is sad but it has happened! The seven-month marriage between
Oluwadamilola Adekoya, popularly known as Princess and Adeshola
Jeremiah has crashed as the busty comedian say she and her young
husband have gone their separate ways due to “irreconcilable
differences”.
It was gathered that the marriage had not been a bed of roses as
both parties had been having incessant fights, which necessitated
family and friends intervening on several occasions.
Princess, a graduate of Theatre Arts from the University of Lagos, got
married on May 8, 2013.
Confirming her marriage break up, Princess said: “It is true, my
marriage has ended. We got married in May. We tried to work it out
but we couldn’t. It happened a while ago. It is not easy for a
marriage to end. All the excitement of marriage has passed. We
wanted to keep it out of the public for a while.”

Deadly Watch List: Presidency Falls Out With Amaechi

The Presidency and Governor Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State are
locked in a war of words over allegations that President Goodluck
Jonathan is training snipers and keeping 1,000 top politicians on a
secret watch list.
“Governor Amaechi knows what he is talking about and this is
not just a claim; it is what is happening. There are indices the
governor will use to buttress his point. We will not make many
comments now until the invitation from the NHRC comes.
“One thing you should know is that Governor Amaechi does not
say one thing today on an issue and say another thing tomorrow
on the same issue. You are aware of the battle between us and
the police. Considering all we have passed through in the hands
of the police, would anybody doubt the fact that the governor is
on the Presidency’s watch list?”
Amaechi had opened up recently, saying: “I read the President’s letter;
he said Obasanjo should prove and name those on the list. I am
number one on the list. I am number one.”
While he stated that he was the number one person on the
President’s watch list and that he had evidence to support this
assertion, the Presidency has dared the governor to prove his
allegation.
Governor Amaechi, who spoke to Punch through his Chief of Staff,
Chief Tony Okocha, in Port Harcourt, on Thursday, said that he is
waiting for the invitation of the National Human Rights Commission.
In his reaction, the special Adviser to the President on Political
Matters, Ahmed Gulak, threw the challenge to Amaechi in an interview
with Punch. Gulak said:
“Let him (Amaechi) go ahead and prove his claim. I don’t really want
to talk about him because he has lost credibility. He is just like a
drunken man in a china shop that wants to bring down everybody
with him."
But Governor Amaechi stated that even without him talking, all
Nigerians know that he is the most persecuted governor in the country
because he refused to allow Abuja politicians access to Rivers money.

10 Signs You Are About To Be Dumped In A Relationship (MUST SEE)

Here are some tell-tale signs that indicate you
are about to be dumped. You may think that
your relationship is very secure, but that may
not be the case. Learn to read between the lines
to make sure you know where your
relationship is heading.

Cancels your dates:
Now, we aren't saying that
you need be worried the first time your
boyfriend/girlfriend opts, but when it becomes a
regular occurrence you definitely need to know
the reason behind it. When you plan a date
well in advance there's no reason why your
partner has to be out working late that very
day.

Wants to go out only in a group:
Hanging out
with friends actually helps a couple's
relationship. However, when your partner
refuses to plan a single solo date, you should
question him about it. Like you shouldn't cut
off your friends once you start dating, they
shouldn't be the reason you get to hang out
with your partner.

Ask you to 'connect' with your friends more
often:
When your girlfriend/boyfriend wants
you to hang out with 'your' friends and not 'his'
friends, that should get you thinking. Of course,
you shouldn't obsess over getting friendly with
his friends, but you should have some mutual
friends.

No PDA please:
Has simple things like holding
hands or a peck on the cheek started
embarrassing your boyfriend/girlfriend? It's
time you figure out what happened to that 'I-
can't-get-enough-of-you' phase.

Gets upset when you try to get intimate:

Does she always complain of a headache? Or
does he always say he's too tired? If your
partner comes up with such flimsy excuses
almost every night then you really need to
know what happened to that 'spark' between
you.

Keeps you waiting... and waiting...
If you find
him putting you on hold and then forgetting to
get back it means you aren't on his mind. Don't
be foolish enough to wait for him for an hour
to pick up the phone, instead go have a face-to-
face chat with him.

Doesn't bother returning your calls:
If/she
refuses to revert to your calls and messages, it
means you can't look the other way and hope
that he/she changes her attitude. Your partner
can't take you for granted and you have to tell
him/her that clearly.

Needs some more 'space':
When he/she starts
inserting words like 'lack of space' very often
while talking about your relationship, you
should take some time out to do some re-
thinking.

Refuses to discuss future:
If your partner is
unsure whether he wants to be with you for
long, he is less likely to speak about a scenario
involving the two of you in the future. If he
refuses to move ahead, then maybe it's time for
you to move on.

Calls you fat!
Now that's hitting below the belt.
If your girlfriend/boyfriend keeps making
demands that you get a makeover, maybe you
should ask him/her to get a new partner.

7 Reasons Why Women Break Up With Men

Everybody has that one relationship they
forever regret ending - the one that, after
doing a lot more dating, they realize was
actually pretty great. If you ask anyone why
they ended those relationships, you can
probably expect to hear one of these reasons.
Here are 7 common things women feel should
mark the end of a relationship that usually
should not.

1. He won't move in with you yet

A lot of women have a sort of a timeline for
their relationship. They believe that by some
particular year (for many women it’s between
year 1 and year 3) they should be moved in
with their boyfriend. However, if the man fails
to suggest it, or even rejects the idea when they
bring it up, many women will call it quits.
Why it doesn’t have to end:
Men think about the big picture more than you
give them credit for. And a lot of men, rather
than thinking, “We’ve been dating for three
whole years” think, “We have only been
together three out of the 60-something years we
might be together.” And when you look at it
that way, waiting another year or two, if it
could keep the relationship together, is worth
it. By the way, why not to enjoy a little more
time having a place all to yourself? Probable, it
will be the last time you ever do.

2. He won’t introduce you to his family yet

Women feel more pressure than men when the
question of marriage arises. If they a particular
age still unmarried, they become less attracted
as partners. So a woman is ready to bring a guy
home after just a few months of dating, just to
show her family, “Hey! Look! I won’t end up
alone.” However, men usually need much more
time to introduce their partners to parents.
Thus, many women think the guy’s just not
serious about them.
Why it doesn’t have to end:
Women are far more comfortable leaning on
their family during emotionally trying times
like, say, during a breakup. So they don’t mind
their family knowing about every relationship
that begins and ends. But men often either don’t
feel comfortable turning to their family during
a breakup, or don’t think it’s a burden they
should put on their family, so in order for them
to take a woman home, they need to feel pretty
certain it’s the woman they’ll marry.
Meanwhile females don’t need to know they’ll
marry a male to take him home: they just need
to believe they can be happy for a few years for
now. But for men, bringing a woman home is
his subtle way of saying, “She’s the one.” That’s
worth waiting for.

3. He won’t propose yet

And here we touch upon timeline again: a lot of
women believe that if a man doesn’t propose by
some particular year x, he’s just never going to.
And they believe that if a guy goes silent when
the subject of marriage comes up, he’ll
definitely never propose.
Why it doesn’t have to end:
The truth is that women are usually always
certain of their feelings for a guy long before
the men are certain of their feelings for a
woman. You know it’s true: you probably had
to hold back your giddiness about your guy in
the first few months - or even a year - until his
enthusiasm caught up. But then, when he was
in, he was all in. Almost every woman feels
ready to marry her partner before her partner
feels ready to marry her. Your man is normal,
there is nothing wrong about it. So long as he
talks about the far away future with you
comfortably, there’s nothing to worry about.

4. You’re consumed by insecurities

Hey, we’re all head-trips. We all down-spiral
into these hurricanes of insecurities, thinking
that our partner would be better suited with a
woman the complete opposite of ourselves,
thinking we’ll turn out just like our mothers
and our marriage will turn out just like our
parents’, thinking we’ll get fat the moment we
get married. Many women get so consumed by
insecurities, but are far too proud to bring them
up to their partner, so, rather than live in
turmoil, they just end the relationship, leaving
a very confused man behind.
Why it doesn’t have to end:
Well, your boy has seen enough chick flicks
you’ve dragged him to to know that women
have those thoughts. He won’t think you need
to be committed to the psych ward if you share
your insecurities with him. If he loves you,
he’ll do what’s within his means to ease those
insecurities. And you know what? You’ll have
those insecurities with anybody you date, so it’d
be a shame to walk away from a great guy, only
to date a sea of mediocre men, who will still
elicit those feelings.

5. You don’t feel excited all the time

Feelings of infatuation are some of the greatest
in the world. You always feel like your partner
is on the exact same wavelength as you - he’s
tired when you are, happy when you are, horny
when you are, depressed when you are. You
think, “This is what life is for! This is what
marriage is supposed to be like!” So, when you
suddenly feel out of sync with your partner, it’s
easy to think the excitement was all hormones,
and this is the wrong guy.
Why it doesn’t have to end:
We’re all subject to the same chemicals and
hormones, and studies have found there is in
fact an infatuation phase that ends (at around 2
or 3 years) and while that can be a let down, it
only feels bad for a little bit: you’re just
comparing how it is to that euphoria it used to
be, so of course that will depress you. But if you
stick it out, and focus on having good
conversations with your partner, and doing
things that you bond over, you can actually
reach a new, deeper kind of excitement.

6. You feel your career is stifled

A lot of women are very driven when they’re
single, but when they fall in love, something
happens. Suddenly, there’s a boyfriend to see
instead of attending another networking event.
And suddenly it seems like it’s either got to be
the boyfriend or career.
Why it doesn’t have to end:
Newsflash: this is just a problem of being self-
disciplined! And if you’re not, you’ll always
find something to hold you back from your
career, from your social life to traveling to a
new dog. A good, healthy relationship can
actually enhance your career. If you bounce
ideas off your partner, and lay down ground
rules about days and hours you need to set
aside to work, you can be mentally energized by
your relationship and thrive in your work.

7. His career is stifled
There’s something so appealing about the
creative, entrepreneurial types — until they are
turned down the twelfth time for a grant, or
they have to move into their parent’s place to
save money on rent and save up capital. Some
women can start to feel they’ll face a life of
struggle with a partner like this, and leave.
Why it doesn’t have to end:
Guess what? A guy with a totally “stable” job
could be in his parent’s house at the blink of an
eye. There’s no such thing as a “stable” job—
there’s only such thing as stable passion and
ambition. And a man who has those will
always find a way to succeed. And you know
what? They tend to be happier than the guy at
the “stable” job that he couldn’t care less about.
If you want to be somebody’s wife one day,
you’ll have to wait out hard times. So long as
your partner is actually trying his hardest
every day, start practicing patience now.
So dear women, please, think twice before
making a decision you might later regret.

Graphic photos:- House help forcefully delivers 6-month old baby

A very scary event took place recently at Utak Street, off Nkemba Street,
in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State. Three months ago, a busy working class
single mum employed a 17 year old girl to help take care of her 2 year
old daughter.
Recently, while the lady was engrossed with a TV programme, her
daughter needed attention and she called the help more than three
times and the help kept responding that she was in the toilet. When it
became unnecessarily too long, she tiptoed into the help's room and
opened the toilet door. To her horror, she met the help squatting with
blood all over the bathroom with a stillborn newly delivered baby
hanging in-between her legs. She screamed and ran out of her
apartment into the street. The entire neighbourhood came out and it
took the intervention of neighbours to calm her down. The neighbours
also helped rushed the help to the hospital. While in the hospital, she
refused treatment and claimed she drank herbs and was given some to
insert in her vagina to force the baby out. The help said she was
warned not to allow orthodox medical treatment.
When asked, the help explained that the pregnancy was six months old.
Her employer said she didn't know she was pregnant as she is a very
slim girl and she thought that the small protruding tommy was just an
evidence of good living with her. She was smart in discharge of her
duties, so there was nothing to suspect. The help was sent parking
afterward. Pictures of the stillborn when you continue. *viewer

Update On Séx For Roles Scandal In Nollywood

The complaints by Nigerians that the trend of asking for séx from
young before they get roles in Nollywood is not really a problem,
according to Ugezu Ugezu, a movie director. In fact, he said “the
situation is a positive development for the industry.”
Ugezu, who is also a writer and actor, was spotted in Tinapa, Calabar,
during the Africa International Film Festival (AFRIFF). Below is what
he told a reporter about the increase in séx for roles scandal:
“Since those who need roles in films see nothing wrong in going
for it that way, I also see nothing wrong in it. Artistes are
different in the way they approach things to get what they want.”
I just wonder what Mr Ugezu will be teaching the young ladies
working under him.

College of Education Lecturers Start Indefinite Strike

COEASU, an acronym of the Colleges of
Education Academic Staff Union has started on
an indefinite strike in order to “salvage the
institutions from total collapse” Daily Trust
reported
The strike was called on Monday, leading to
the suspension of academic activities at the
Federal Colleges of education nationwide.
The lecturers are concerned over the Federal
Government’s Integrated Personnel Payment
System (IPPS) as well as on the decaying
infrastructure in the colleges. The strike came
soon after university lecturers ended a long-
drawn industrial action that lasted nearly six
months.
An official of COAESU, who does not want to
be named because he was not authorised to
speak, said the union went on strike because it
appeared this was the “only language that the
Federal Government understands.”
“Our colleges are rotting away; no befitting
libraries, hostels, lecture halls and other
structures. The books in our libraries today are
outdated,” he said. The official said colleges of
education needed adequate funds for
transformation to enable them provide the
expected services to the nation.
“Another vital issue which COEASU wants
government to address is the implementation
of migration on its junior staff to the IPPS
system…. COEASU wants government to stop
the implementation of IPPS on the colleges of
education because it will disrupt its progress,”
he said.
He said “colleges of education as teacher-
training institutions have unique features
different from that of universities. We have
teacher training and teaching practice
programmes which are basic instruments for
producing qualitative teachers but government
is not allocating funds for these programmes.”
The official added that colleges of education
are sponsoring their products for such
programmes out of their salary allocations,
and that if the IPPS was implemented these
programmes would automatically be wiped out
from the system.

Pastor Osakwe Arrested For Defrauding Victims Of N20m

The Delta State Police Command on Tuesday arraigned Pastor Victor
Osakwe of the Hoolly Hill Zion at the Asaba Magistrate Court for
allegedly defrauding unsuspecting victims of more than N20 million.
“Osakwe has been arraigned on 20-count charges for frequently
defrauding over 20 persons of a total of N20 million. “The
Pastor’s mode of operation is to raise false alarm on death and
imminent calamity on his unsuspecting victims to make them
part with their cars and monies.”
The Command’s Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Charles Muka,
told the News Agency of Nigeria in Asaba that the pastor defrauded
more than 20 people of both money and properties.
DSP Charles Muka also disclosed that Pastor Osakwe is a "fake" who
runs the Holly Hill Zion Prophetic and Solution Ministry, Akwu Ofu,
Asaba.
Items recovered from Pastor Osakwe included two saloon cars and
two jeeps.
The controversial pastor has been remanded in prison.

possible for a yellow sisi like this to settle down with this handsome
man if there are no strings attached? Is he her husband or her

I Prayed, Fasted for 10 Months to Become Governor ––Amaechi

Rivers State Governor and Chairman of the Nigerian Governors’
Forum, Rotimi Amaechi has attributed the increasing level of
insecurity in Nigeria to the Federal Government.
The Governor also said that God, not man, installed him as the state
governor because he fasted and prayed for 10 months before he
became the governor.
“As a government led by me, a government installed by Christ, if
anybody tells you he installed me, tell him it is a lie. Tell him
that I said I prayed for 10 months and I fasted from 6am to
6pm, calling on Christ to come down and Christ came down
mightily and installed me as governor.
“That is why you can see that in the face of human effontery, I
have been able to stand face to face with them and I say I have
Christ in me."
Amaechi, who spoke at Saint Vincent De Paul Catholic Church in Port
Harcourt on Christmas Day, said the insecurity in the state is growing
because the police had failed to do their job in an unbiased manner.
He urged Nigerians to disregard anyone who claimed to be
responsible for his emergence as governor:
“You must rise in that same spirit of having Christ in you and
confront those who are confronting you. You must stand up for Christ
because the Bible says ‘faith without work is dead.’
“We must not die. We must live and the way to live is to celebrate
Christ and the way to celebrate Christ is to confront Satan and Satan
is in different forms and shapes. If the police shoot at you, they are
satanic. If government denies you your right to live, that government
is satanic.”
Amaechi called on the people to be steadfast.
