In case you do not know, their traditional marriage is expected to hold
on Saturday November 23, 2013. So if he is saying the truth, then one is
left with no choice but to wonder why a man will be seeing dead people
in his dreams just a few weeks to his marriage with a popular female
musician.
In a 19-paragraph statement of defence filed before a Lagos High Court in Igbosere, the Ojukwu Transport Limited and seven family members challenged Bianca to prove her claims in the suit which she instituted on behalf of her two underage sons.
Her sons – Afamefuna and Nwachukwu – are the claimants on record in the suit numbered, LD/1539/2012.
The Ojukwu Transport Limited, which is the property in dispute in the suit, is the first defendant. Other defendants, apart from OTL, are Prof. Joseph Ojukwu, Emmanuel Ojukwu, Lotanna Ojukwu, Dr. Patrick Ojukwu, Mr. Edward Ojukwu, Lota Ojukwu and Mrs. Massey Udegbe.
The relatives stated that, contrary to the allegation of the claimants, for over 12 years prior to the death of the deceased, the late Ojukwu had moved to Enugu State and had not lived at any of the property since then.
Their statement of defence read, “The property belongs to the first defendant (Ojukwu Transport Company). The fact is that the claimants’ mother, being greedy, felt she could hold onto the first defendant’s property.
“For over 12 years prior to his death, the late Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu moved to Enugu and since then had not lived at the first defendant’s property as alleged by the claimants.”
They challenged Bianca’s children to show proof of “any agreement which their late father had from the first defendant (OTL) for him to control and/or manage the property of the first defendant.”
Bianca, who is Nigeria’s Ambassador to Spain, had instituted the suit on behalf of Afamefuna and Nwachukwu urging the court to declare that the two underage children were entitled to some assets belonging to the Ojukwu Transport Limited.
She wanted the court to declare that her children are entitled to occupy and take possession of the company’s property at 29, Oyinkan Abayomi Street in Ikoyi, Lagos, “until the harmonisation of the management and administration of the assets of the first defendant (OTL)”.
In addition, they urged the court to declare that they were entitled to possess their father’s property at 13 Hawksworth Road, Ikoyi (now known as 13, Ojora Road); 32A, Commercial Avenue, Yaba, Lagos; 30, Gerard Road, Ikoyi, Lagos; and 30, McPherson Avenue, Ikoyi.
But, in their statement of defence, the seven defendants, through their lawyer, George Uwechue (SAN), stated that the claimants’ statement of claim contained “tissues of lies and distorted facts.”
At the resumed hearing of the suit on Wednesday, counsel for Bianca and her children was not in court. The development necessitated Justice Funmilayo Atilade to adjourn the suit till December 10.
The judge had adjourned the matter for adoption of written addresses on an application filed by the claimants seeking to restrain the defendants from the property in dispute.
Bianca’s children had through their lawyer, Chris Ezugwu, prayed the court to declare as illegal the threat of forceful ejection from 29, Oyinkan Abayomi Street by the defendants.

Pope Francis has
suspended
indefinitely a German Roman Catholic prelate known as the “luxury
bishop” or “bling bishop”, from his diocese for spending $43m of Church
funds on his residence.
“The Holy See deems it appropriate to authorise a period of leave from the
diocese for Franz-Peter Tebartz-van Elst,” the Vatican said in a statement
on Wednesday.
But the pontiff, who has been stressing austerity, stopped short of
dismissing him outright, a step which many German Catholics and the
media had called for.
In a highly unusual move, Bishop Franz-Peter Tebartz-van Elst of Limburg
was ordered to leave his diocese while an investigation and audit into cost
over-runs is held, the Vatican statement said.
The bishop, who met the pope on Monday, “was currently not in a position
to carry out his episcopal ministry”.
The statement said he should stay outside his diocese “for a period,” and
that it would be administered in his absence by a vicar-general.
It did not specify how long the bishop would have to stay away but added
that this would depend on an analysis of the finances of his Limburg
diocese and the responsibilities for its high costs.
The issue has proven a major embarrassment for the pope, who has called
for a more austere Church that sides with the poor.
He has told bishops not to live like princes, and has also promised to clean
up the murky finances of the Vatican bank.
The German media has dubbed Tebartz-van Elst “the luxury bishop” after
an audit of his spending, ordered after a Vatican monitor visited Limburg
last month, revealed the residence cost at least six times more than
planned.
The Central Committee of German Catholics, which brings together all the
Catholic lay associations in the country, said it was satisfied with the
decision to suspend the bishop.
“Pope Francis’ decision offers a chance at a new beginning in the diocese
of Limburg where the situation has become heavy in recent weeks both for
believers there and for the Church in Germany as a whole,” its president
Alois Glueck said.
He has apologised for any “carelessness or misjudgment on my part”, but
denies wrongdoing.
The bishop flew to Rome last week with low-cost airline Ryanair to explain
himself to Francis – following accusations he took an expensive ticket on a
trip to India and squandered money.
German media, citing official documents, said the residence had been fitted
with a free-standing bath that cost 15,000 euros, a conference table that
cost 25,000 euros and a private chapel for 2.9 million euros.
The “luxury bishop” story has deeply embarrassed a Church enjoying an
upswing in popularity thanks to Pope Francis’s mass appeal and following
years of criticism for hiding s*xual abuse cases among clergy.
Tebartz-van Elst, 53, is 22 years away from official retirement age in the
Church and his saga represents an extraordinary management quandary
for the Vatican.
Even if he eventually steps down from the diocese of Limburg, he would
retain the title and rank of bishop, meaning the Vatican would have to find
another post for him somewhere.
The scandal has also put pressure on German bishops for more financial
transparency in the entire Church in their country, forcing them to scrap
centuries of secrecy over the reporting the value of their private
endowments.
Germany’s church tax, collected by the state and handed over to the
churches, raised 5.2 billion euros for the Catholics and 4.6 billion euros
for Protestants in 2012.
According to some media reports in Germany, the Limburg scandal has
prompted more Germans to decide to formally leave the Church.

The Imo State House of Assembly, last Tuesday, honoured the winner of the Miss
Nigeria 2013, Miss Ezinne Akudo Anyaoha for emerging the winner of the beauty
pageant.
DailyStar reports that Ezinne was invited into the Chambers during their session to
receive the recognition and honour.
The house had described her achievement as one worthy of recognition and
celebration, adding that her effort has not only projected a good image of the Imo
woman but has also brought her to international limelight.
So, a motion was moved for her to become the face of the state.
The Speaker Rt Hon. Ben Uwajumogu added that a road be named after her so that
it will always be in history that one of their own won the prestigious Miss Nigeria
crown as this will serve as an inspiration to other younger girls in the state as well
as the unborn.
The House members, however, noted that, this appreciation was necessary to
further portray that they are not only interested in politics but they still care about
other things in the state such as beauty and brains.
They wished her a very successful reign and prayed that her reign rubs off

According to a report by AFP, police who enforce Islamic law in Kano have
arrested 150 people in the last week, including for indecent dress, as part of a
crackdown on immorality.

Some people in Nigeria’s second city have been picked up for sporting hair
styles inspired by prominent international football players, said Mohammed
Yusuf Yola, spokesman for Kano’s sharia police, or Hisbah. Others were
thrown in jail and fined for wearing their trousers too low on their waists,
mimicking a style that became prominent in the 1990s, partly through the
influence of some American hip hop artists. The arrests have followed an
order by Kano state Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso to cleanse the city of
immoral practices and the trend is set to continue in the weeks ahead, said
Hisbah Director-General Abba Sufi.The Hisbah is a state police force funded
by state govt and is not part of the federal police.“We have arrested 150 men
and women in the past week, including prostitutes and their boyfriends,
transvestites, alcoholics and those engaged in indecent dressing in
contravention of the sharia legal code,” Yola told AFP.
Religion has repeatedly been used as a political issue in Kano and the governor,
seen as a moderate, has been accused by rivals of lacking commitment to sharia’s
guidelines.Yola insisted the operation was launched to reverse disturbing trends in
the city of some five million people and is targeting people of various faiths.“Those
arrested include Muslims and non-Muslims and we treat them equally because this
is about morality,” he said.
Kano, like the rest of northern Nigeria, is majority Muslim, but the city has a
sizeable Christian minority.
Some of those arrested have been released after paying fines ranging from 10,000
naira ($63, 46 euros) to 15,000 naira, Yola said.
“Those who could not afford the fine are being kept in prison,” he added, but he
would not specify the number of people currently being held.
At the restoration of civilian rule in 1999, 12 northern states, including Kano,
formally adopted sharia, but the Islamic legal system has been unevenly applied.
The Hisbah was formed in 2001, largely to enforce sharia, but the force has other
duties, including some community development work and alternative dispute
resolution.
The southern half of Nigeria, Africa’s most populous country, is mostly Christian.

Gov. Rochas Okorocha of
Imo says his critics are
boosting his profile by the
day.
This is contained in a
statement issued by his
media aide, Mr William
Unadike, in Owerri.
It said that the Okorocha-
led administration was not indebted to any bank, adding that the more the
governor was criticised, the more his profile kept rising.
The statement also quotes Okorocha as saying that those who had followed
his administration’s activities would be astonished with the achievements
compared with what the state had been receiving from the federation
account.
It appealed to those who engaged in destructive criticism to have a change
of mind and support the administration to build a better Imo that would be a
pride to the future generation.
The statement said that the governor had not committed any offence to
deserve what it called the ”unwarranted attacks from his detractors”.
“My only crime is the refusal to allow the resources of the state to be shared
by the privileged few against the interest of the majority of the people,”
it quotes the governor as saying.
The statement said that Gov. Okorocha was using the state resources to
cater for the interest of the greater majority through the provision of social
infrastructure that would guarantee improved standard of living.
It said that the governor had made personal sacrifices to ensure that every
Imo child had access to education by forfeiting his security vote to finance

that she would think of something.
About 2 hours later she phoned me from a different number and told me
what happened. She said that she turned her phone off, used the towel in
the bathroom then put it in the bath, put the toilet seat down and then
climbed out of the window and ran to the bus stop. From there, she went
home, had a shower then went to the shops to get herself a new sim card so
that he couldnt contact her. So far, she hasnt bumped into him and he never
went to her house so he doesnt know where she lives although he knows the

According to a new report by City People magazine this week, actress Nuella
Njubigbo & Nollywood movie producer Tchidi Chikere have moved in together.
Nuella, who has been dating Tchidi since before he divorced his actress wife
Sophia Chikere, moved out of her Okota family home and moved into a new house

As the minister of aviation began a new spin today that the two BMW armored cars
purchased by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) for her use were done on
"hire-purchase", Sahara Reporters has again unearthed new details about the $1.6
million spent by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority to purchase the armored BMW
cars for Mrs Stella Oduah.
A highly reliable source has told SaharaReporters that the shady deal for the car
was done entirely between Coscharis Motors Limited, one of Ms. Oduah’s private
firms based in Abuja and First Bank of Nigeria.
"The NCAA was not even aware of the deal until the minister told them to sign
that they had received two BMW cars," said our source.
After inking the deal, Coscharis Motors, sellers of the highly inflated automobiles,
reportedly gave the Aviation Minister more than N112 million as kickbacks. Our
source added that Cosmas Maduka, who owns Coscharis Motors, pocked N60
million for each of the two BMW cars.
An official at the NCAA corroborated the information that the agency was largely
kept in the dark about the transaction. “ We were never privy to the transaction and
had not seen the cars even though our head of transport was made to sign the
delivery note,” said the source.
The source added that the agency has still not seen the cars even after the
scandal escalated.
Last week, an official of the NCAA, Fola Akinkuotu, spoke to the media and
defended the purchase of the cars. Mr. Akinkuotu said the cars were for the
ministry’s protocol pool for use in transporting foreign aviation dignitaries when
they visit Nigeria. His explanation conflicted with the original statement by the
minister’s spokesman, Mr. Obi, who had claimed that the cars were for Stella
Oduah's safety.
A source at the NCAA disclosed that Mr. Akinkuotu felt tricked into facing the media
on the scandal. “He had been told he would only appear beside the embattled
minister, who was supposed to speak. Instead, he was asked to speak,” said the
source.
Meanwhile, a source at the Presidency said President Goodluck Jonathan is not
bothered at all about the fraud perpetrated by Stella Oduah, his Aviation Minister.
Ms. Oduah had played significant roles in raising money and disbursing same to
help Jonathan win the 2011 presidential elections.
Several Nigerians and diplomats have registered their displeasure at Jonathan’s
continued retention of Oduah on his cabinet but he has refused to take any action
and the woman is still in office.
In fact, Jonathan will depart Abuja on Wednesday to spend one week in Israel on
pilgrimage.

Former mobile phone leader Nokia beat new rival Apple at its own game late
on Tuesday, revealing a tablet computer and two big-screen smartphones at
an event in Abu Dhabi.
The Finnish
company used
its first event since being bought by Microsoft to reveal what chief executive
Stephen Elop called its “first tablet” and promising it would be more mobile
than others on the market.
Mr Elop’s comments come just hours before Apple is due to release a refresh
of its iPad range of tablet computers, in an attempt to win back some of the

But Mr Elop said it would be different to other tablets in the market, as it was
designed to be genuinely portable.
“Tablet use peaks between six and eight in the morning,” Mr Elop said.
“During the rest of the day tablet usage drops.
“We are looking to shift this traditional trend. Your tablet should be as
mobile as you. Our approach is to give people a tablet that is actually
mobile.”
Nokia also unveiled two big-screen phones, or phablets, at the event in the
Nokia Lumia 1520 and 1320.
Both Windows Phone handsets will feature six-inch screens, but the higher
end model, the 1520, will also feature a 20-megapixel camera. It will begin
shipping next year at a price of $US749 (N119465.50).

You have been under lots of criticisms, what would you say are the
pains and gains of being Nigeria’s representative at BBA?
I am usually a busy person. I don’t have a schedule. That’s a good thing
because good things have been coming my way since the show. Of course,
there would always be negative tales. The pains are the things I hear about
myself which are quite ridiculous. They are not true. Although you ignore
them but at times they affect your work.
On Thursday, October 17, 2013, two pictures went viral depicting you
had actually acted in a real porn movie, what’s your take on that?
I saw the pictures too. Sincerely, looking at the pictures they really look like
me and they are not photoshop. I was, ‘Oh, my God!’
I can’t deny the fact that they look like me but it’s not me. If they were
photoshop I would have just ignored it but it’s real. I don’t know who the
person is but it’s exactly like me. However, those who know me very well can
depict the truth that it’s not me. They can do what they want to do but it
would only make me stronger.
Nigerians don’t appreciate their own. It doesn’t happen like that
internationally. They appreciate their own. When I went to Tanzania, I know
how they gave me a celebrity welcome. I think we should just start with our
own. I just lost my grandmother and my mum and I are looking for ways to
give her a befitting burial. It’s not easy, I am just trying to keep calm.
How then have you been handling the scandals?
Sincerely, I just pray. However, I still have them at the back of my mind.
There is no how they can go off immediately. It affects my attitude
sometimes. At such times, I refuse to have conversation with anybody. I just
want to stay alone.
Nonetheless, it pushes me to put more effort in projects that fall across my
path. It helps clear my mind from negative atmosphere.
So many people still believe you owe Nigerians unreserved apology
for your act in BBA, what’s your take on that?
I cannot apologize for what I don’t know. What exactly did I do? I don’t feel
sorry. They are living their lives and I am living my own life. The only
difference between us is because my own is public. And they enjoyed the
platform.
If you guys were locked up for 91 days you would appreciate it. It’s only
someone who is involved that can speak for another person. I am a kind of
person who doesn’t criticize other people and I don’t think others should
criticize me.
Angelo was here in Nigeria, what is going on between the two of you
and is it for real?
Angelo and I are now an item.
What do you mean by that?
It simply means we have become an item together. I won’t say more than
that.
