Strange things are really happening these days. It is left for you to
believe them or doubt...
According to the story, a Lagos-based Christian band, The Perfected
Praise Singers, were doing their thing at a Redeemed Church branch
in Ebute-Metta, Lagos, and some people were taking pictures with
their Ipads as the praise and worship went on inside the church.
A young boy used his parent Ipad to take pictures too and when they
got home the picture above of an Angel was among the clips they saw
in the Ipad. Wow! If this is true, then you all need to be careful when
next you are in church, especially during praise and worship session.
You never know who could be around.

Despite leaving Nigeria early for the funeral of late South African
leader, Nelson Mandela, President Goodluck Jonathan has been
snubbed by the South African authorities at the State Memorial
Service of the anti-apartheid leader.
PremiumTimesng reports that an official release of programmes
during the memorial service shows that the Nigerian president was
missing on the list of world leaders billed to give tributes.
The world leaders who will be giving tributes are:
United State President, Barack Obama;
President Dilma Rousseff of Brazil;
Vice-President Li Yuanchao of China;
President Hifikepunye Pohamba of Namibia;
President Pranab Mukherjee of India;
and President Raúl Castro Ruz of Cuba.
Other leaders billed to give tributes are the United Nations Secretary-
General, Ban Ki-Moon; and the African Union Commission Chair,
Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma.
Though Mr. Jonathan is not the only head of state that would not
give tribute - there are about 90 heads of state attending the funeral,
the apparent snub handed Mr. Jonathan also appears to rubbish the
enormous effort played by Nigeria to bring an end to apartheid in
South Africa.
This was at a time when Western governments were pussyfooting to
pressure the apartheid government to renounce its policy of
segregation and its brutal abuses against the black majority.
Some Western governments including the U.S. had even designated
the ruling Africa National Congress (ANC) as a terrorist organisation,
and Mandela a terrorist.
This point was also highlighted by the Lagos State Governor,
Babatunde Fashola, on Monday in a chat with journalists.
There are more questions to answer. When you look at the part of
the world where ovation is now the loudest, it was the part of the
world the pain was the most vicious. In a very cruel irony, history
is being revised.
The people, who collaborated with the government that enthroned
apartheid at that time, are the people that are paying the biggest
tributes now. But I ask myself: is this not the time for deep
reflection? I doubt if any African country expended as much time,
as much money and as much commitment as the Nigerian
Government.
I was a teenager then in 1976 when anti-apartheid campaign
really gained resurgence in every home in this country. Nigeria
paid a huge price for what South Africa has become today. I
remember the anti-apartheid campaign was at the core of
Nigerian foreign policy.
Apart from scholarship given to South Africans, I remember
President Yar’Adua met Thabo Mbeki in South Africa and he was
telling me about their relationship, which he said was dated to
when Mbeki used to come to Zaria for student exchange
programme. I remember we did not go for Commonwealth Games
because of South Africa. I remember we took drastic measures
against the foreign collaborators of apartheid regime and
nationalised assets.”

Today Dec. 10th makes it 8 years since we lost Pastor Bimbo
Odukoya, 60 students of Loyola Jesuit College and 47 others in the
2005 Sosoliso Airline crash.
Sosoliso Airlines Flight 1145 was a scheduled flight from Abuja to
Port Harcourt carrying 103 passengers and 7 crew members. The
plane crash landed and burst into flames at the Port Harcourt
International Airport, killing 108 people. Two passengers survived.
May their souls continue to rest in Peace.

Afro beat King, Femi Kuti just got his 4th Grammy Awards
nomination. His 2013 album 'No Place For My Dream' was nominated
in the Best World Music Album Category alongside French group
Gipsy Kings, South African group Ladysmith Black Mambazo and
Indian singer Ravi Shankar.
Last year Femi Kuti vowed never to attend the Grammys again, but
hope he wins this time around.

A letter has been uncovered in which the Governor of the Central Bank
of Nigeria, CBN, Mallam Sanusi Lamido of Nigeria exposed to
President Goodluck Jonathan the continuing refusal of Nigerian
National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) to honour its legal
obligations, including failure to remit $49.8 billion to the Federation
Account between 2012 and 2013.
Surprisingly, the amount represents a whooping 76% of the value of
crude lifted during the period...
The CBN governor's complaints contained in a letter to President
Jonathan dated 25 September 2013, read:
“Our analysis of the value of crude oil export proceeds based on the
documentation received from pre-shipment inspectors shows that
between January 2012 and July 2013, NNPC lifted 594,024,107
barrels of crude valued at $65,332,350,514.57,” the letter said. “Out of
this amount, NNPC repatriated only $15,528,410,098.77 representing
24% of the value. This means the NNPC is yet to account for, and
repatriate to the Federation Account, an amount in excess of $49.804
billion of the value of oil lifted in the same period.”
Drawing attention to an attached table of analysis of the crude oil
liftings and repatriations as prepared by the CBN, Governor Sanusi
noted that the failure of the NNPC to repatriate the amounts
constitutes not only a violation of constitutional provisions but also
of both Nigeria’s foreign exchange and pre-shipment inspection of
exports laws.
Also drawing attention to previous occasion in which he had
expressed concern about what appeared to be shortfalls in
remittances to the Federation Account in spite of the strong recovery
in the price of oil, Mr. Sanusi said that a point of departure ought to
be to insist that the NNPC account fully for all proceeds that were
diverted from its accounts with the CBN and the Federation Account.
“As an indicator of how bad this situation has become, please note
that in 2012 alone, the Federation Account received $28.51 billion in
Petroleum Profits and related taxes but only $1013 from crude oil
proceeds,” he informed Mr. Jonathan. “In the period January-July
2013, the corresponding figures are $16.65 billion and $5.39 billion,
respectively. This means, Your Excellency, that in the first seven
months of the year, taxes accounted for 76% of the total inflow from
this sector, while NNPC crude oil proceeds accounted for only 24%.”
Sanusi specifically recommended to the President to:
1. Require NNPC to provide evidence for disposal of all proceeds of
crude sales diverted from the CBN and Federation Account;
2. Investigate crude oil lifting and swap contracts, as well as the
financial transactions of counter-parties for equity, fairness and
transparency; and
3. Authorise prosecution of suspects in money-laundering
transactions, including but not limited to BDCs who are unable to
account for hundreds of millions of dollars.
Despite claims of fighting corruption, President Jonathan does not
normally take any action against members of his cabinet or
implement reports against people in his government who are clearly
corrupt. Really sad!
And now that is the NNPC under the supervision of his one of close
Minister, Diezani Alison-Madueke, it is as usual expected that nothing
will happen, again.

The PDP is in a state of panic after all attempts to beg Governors
Rabiu Kwankwaso and Aliyu Wamakko to leave the APC and return to
the party on Monday failed. But what is more troubling now for the
party is the latest revelation that few more PDP governors have
indicated their interest to decamp to the APC.
"We have taken over as the party with the highest number of
lawmakers at the National Assembly. We have 280 legislators
out of 360 at the House of Representatives. We already have the
two-thirds there....
Vice Chairman, Senate Committee on Education, Senator Sola
Adeyeye, made these revelations in Ikirun on Monday while addressing
members of the party during his usual empowerment programme.
He said his prediction that the APC would take control of the
government at the centre even before the 2015 presidential election
had started to come to pass. He said the popularity of the APC had
become unstoppable, saying the party would soon become the ruling
party in the country.
Senator Adeyeye said, “We already have the majority at the Senate,
but we have yet to have the two-thirds there. We will soon
accomplish this. Very soon, some governors from the PDP camp will
join us . It will be clear to all that the APC has taken over.”
The Senator further suggested that the likes of Prince Olagunsoye
Oyinlola and other PDP big shots will join the Board of Trustee
member and dump the party for good in the next few weeks.

Flavour had said that a collaboration between himself and Waconzy
may never happen while responding to few personal questions,
without any grudges, but a female blogger blew the matter out of
proportion and it almost became a big fight between the two top
Naija musicians. But Flavour has apologized. They're cool again!

It appears we are truly approaching the much talked about end time.
As you read this, a Catholic priest in Imo State is being investigated
by the police after reports that he was illegally in possession of
weapons.
The Reverend Father is said to be in charge of a parish in the
Dikenafai environs of the Ideato South LGA of the state. He is said to
have threatened members of his parish and endangered their lives
with three unlicensed guns believed to be in his possession, without
approval.
As a result of the Reverend Father's action, many are now afraid of
going to the church.
Crime Guard reliably gathered that the guns which include one pump
action riffle, one double-barrelled gun and a locally-made pistol
allegedly belonging to the priest were recovered from his official
residence by operatives of Special Armed Robbery Squad, SARS, Imo
State Police Command acting on a tip off from some concerned
parishioners.
Described as a very controversial priest, the reverend father was
arrested and detained briefly but granted bail by the police following
the intervention of some influential religious and political leaders in
the state.
Police sources said that the controversy surrounding the Catholic
priest stemmed from a tragedy that occurred in January 2010, after
the death of a prominent indigene of the area.
Meanwhile, investigation into the case is ongoing by the police to
ascertain the source of the guns and possibly the actual purposes
they are being used for.
The Rev Father may be charged to court after full police investigation
had been concluded.

Public university lecturers under the umbrella of the Academic Staff
Union of Universities, ASUU, on Sunday insisted that they would not
return to the classrooms on Monday as directed by the federal
government.
They also accused the President Gooodluck Jonathan-led Government
of insincerity in its bid to resolve the 6 months old dispute. ASUU
President, Dr. Nasir Fagge, confirmed their stand to go on with the
strike...
The Federal Government had through the Executive Secretary of the
National Universities Commission, Prof. Julius Okojie, deferred its
earlier ultimatum to the lecturers to resume work on Monday (today)
or risk being sacked. The shift was to enable them to participate in
the burial of Prof. Festus Iyayi, a former president of ASUU on
Saturday.
Before this, the Supervising Minister of Education, Nyesom Wike, had
advised the striking lecturers to return to work on or before December
4 or face dismissal.
But ASUU had in a news bulletin to its chapters after its meeting in
Ekpoma, Edo State on Sunday, said the Federal Government had not
met its conditions for suspending the over five months’ strike.
When asked by Punch if the members of the union would go back to
work today and if they had confirmed the N200bn the Federal
Government claimed to have deposited in a special account at the
Central Bank of Nigeria, Fagge simply replied, “No to both questions.”
ASUU had in the bulletin insisted that the government threat to sack
its members would not break the union’s resolve to pursue its action
to a logical conclusion.
A source privy to the meeting, said:
“No Jupiter will force us to go and teach until all the agreements are
documented. The Federal Government is not sincere. If indeed the
authorities have agreed, why will they be afraid to document what has
been agreed upon?
“Let the vice-chancellors, who can teach, go and do so. But our
members are determined not to sign any attendance register
tomorrow (today). The threat does not bother us, as truth will always
supercede deception, lies and any form of intimidation.”

A twenty-four-year-old man, Ndifreke Uko has allegedly impregnated
his younger sister, Otobong Uko.
According to SunNews, the incident occurred at Ikang Etta Street in
Calabar Municipality of Cross River State, where residents are still
shocked as to what may have led the duo to engage in such
sacrilegious act.
Narrating her ordeal to Sunday Sun, Otobong said:
“My brother has been having regular sex with me until I suddenly
realized what the whole thing was all about. And when I noticed
it, I told my father, but he advised me not to make it public, until
three months after I realized that I had missed my period.”
Investigations by Sunday Sun revealed that the same Ndifrek had
allegedly impregnated one of the sisters some years ago, leading to
the death of the girl in the attempt to abort the pregnancy.
When SunNews correspondent visited the compound, nobody including
the landlord was willing to talk. But it was observed that the property
of the Uko family had been thrown out.
A neighbour who spoke with the reporter on condition of anonymity
said:
“This is incredible. How can this boy engage in this kind of
wicked act? We are highly angry for what the boy has been
doing. I think he is cursed.”

It appears the defection of five out of the seven New PDP governors to
the APC is not final yet, as two of the governors made a surprise
appearance at a secret peace meeting called by President Goodluck
Jonathan at the Aso Rock presidential villa on Sunday night.
The two governors are Rabiu Kwankwaso of Kano State, Aliyu
Wamakko of Sokoto State. They were both driven into the premises of
First Lady Conference Hall, venue of the meeting, in the same car at
about 9pm.
A source told NastyGist.COM that Jonathan has been begging them
not to work with his enemies...
They arrived for the meeting about an hour after one of the aggrieved
PDP governors, Babangida Aliyu of Niger State, arrived the venue
without his partner, Governor Sule Lamido.
The Chairman, Board of Trustees of the PDP, Chief Tony Anenih, who
also arrived before them went to confer with the President inside his
residence before joining them at the venue.
Jonathan and Vice-President Namadi Sambo arrived at about
9.50pm. At 10pm, some PDP governors who had earlier met at the
Akwa Ibom State Governors Lodge in Asokoro arrived the venue of the
meeting.
President Jonathan was said to have personally begged Kano State
Governor, Kwankwaso to change his mind because it would be a
disaster for him if PDP lose Rivers, Lagos and Kano in 2015.
I hear the two governors told him that they just attended the meeting
out of respect and cannot take any action until they discuss with the
rest of their colleagues.

Mrs Joy Ifijeh is now a popular woman in Edo State, as a result of her
encounter with Oshiomhole. Here is what she told Punch's James
Azania about the sad episode that has become a big blessing for
her...
You look young, but you have a grandchild. How old are you?
I was born in 1973.
What do you do for a living?
I am a trader.
What was the total worth of your business?
I can’t say, because I buy goods from different markets and sell them
to make money.
How did you feel the day the governor seized your wares: Did you
curse him as you went home empty-handed?
No, I did not curse any one, but I was sad just like the day I lost my
husband. That day, I cried to God, and wondered, where do I start
from, where am I going to? I told my God to send my helper to me. I
can’t keep on suffering till I die .
Did you feel bitter when the governor seized your wares?
Yes. I cried till daybreak. Marvellous put his hand on my head and
said, “Mummy, it’s okay.” Then I replied him, saying, “Marvellous,
let’s eat.” But he refused. “No, mummy, let us go to sleep,” he told
me. I did not eat anything that day until daybreak.
How did you feel when the governor called you?
I lost strength that day, I won’t lie. I did not even get myself. I was
surprised when government called me back. Now, I thank my God. I
thank everyone in Government House, I thank Adams Oshiomhole, and
I thank my God who used him to help me in this condition . I thank my
brothers and sisters, and my cousins that helped me when my
husband died.
When did you lose your husband?
I lost my husband in January 2010. He slumped in the office and
died.
When did you get married?
We got married in 1990.
What was life like when your husband was alive?
Life was better then. From the time we married to 2005 when I gave
birth to my last boy (Marvellous), things were better. But after then, I
began to suffer; that was when he (husband) got married to another
woman, a Yoruba woman, and things became difficult for me. My
husband was from Iloje, in Owan West in Edo State. They had met in
Ibadan when my husband was on transfer. My husband died in Lagos.
How many children did the other woman have for your husband?
She had five girls for him.
How many children did your marriage produce?
The marriage produced four children. My first daughter, Gloria, is 22
years old. The first boy, Bright, is 18 years old now. My second
daughter, Elizabeth was born in 2002. My last boy, Marvellous is nine
years old now.
Are your children currently schooling?
Yes. Bright has finished secondary school and is waiting to enter the
university. My first daughter, Gloria, is married. Marvellous is now in
primary three; Light of Life Primary School, in Ogida. My second
daughter, Elizabeth, is in Favour Group of Schools; she’s in primary
five. She stays with my sister.
How have you been coping with the upkeep of your children since
your husband died?
We have been managing. I am the only one taking care of my children
and paying house rent.
Has your husband’s family been of any assistance?
Yes, they have helped a little, but they are doing their best. On
November 15, when I went to the village, one gave me plantain;
another one gave me oranges and plantain also.
What happened to your husband’s gratuity?
They (Nigerian Police) has not given it to me. In fact, I went to Lagos
twice, with my two sons. We went to the Ikeja office where we were
asked to fill in some details about the date of employment and some
other things. But till now, we have not heard anything from them.
Tell us about the experience you had with that truck pusher you said
absconded with your goods?
This happened when I went to buy goods from the market in the
village. I bought a full bag of pepper, a full bag of santana (starch),
garri and yam. It cost me N25,000 in total. I gave it to a wheelbarrow
man on Mission Road and I did not see him again. He just
disappeared. I cried that day until the next day when I went to the
market again to buy goods, before Oshiomhole saw me.
You were offered employment by the government. Have you taken it
up and where is your office?
I was offered employment to work with the War Against Indiscipline
office.
Now that you have received various sums of money, what do you
intend to do with them?
I don’t know yet, because I am still surprised and shocked. I feel so
much joy. Now, I have to sit down and think about what I want to do
with the money.
How did you feel when you heard you were all over the Internet and in
the news media nationwide?
I was surprised, they even said the Peoples Democratic Party sent me
N250,000, but I didn’t take the money from them.
Have you forgiven the governor?
Yes, a long time ago. I forgave him on that day he seized my wares.
But I wondered where I would start from again, and I called unto God
to help me.
Some people are still not happy with the governor, what will you tell
them?
It is not his fault, because he used money to build that slab, but I
didn’t put my goods on the slab.
What will you tell your friends who still trade on the street?
I told all of them to stop putting their goods on the road and on
slabs.
Since the incident, you have become a popular person. How do you
feel about it?
It is God’s wish; it is God’s work.

Maryjane and Annette were two peas in a pod. The twins were
identical in every way. Aside from their mom, it was very difficult for
other people, including friends and family, to identify one from the
other.
Maryjane and Annette took advantage of this feature and got away
with numerous pranks. Their mother, Arden, had enrolled them in the
same secondary school but an incident made her separate them. One
day, Annette was caught when she tried to impersonate and write an
impromptu test for Maryjane...
Her sister had broken the hostel rules and gone for a friend’s birthday
party in a neighbouring city. Unknown to her, the mathematics
teacher organised an impromptu test at the end of the class. When
she got wind of the test, Annette quickly sneaked into the class when
she taught the teacher was not watching. At the end of the exercise,
the teacher informed her that he was aware of what she had done.
The matter was brought to the notice of the principal, who
immediately summoned their mother. The principal threatened to expel
Annette and gave their mother an ultimatum— she either withdrew
Annette from the school or have the twins expelled. As a result, the
girls were separated from each other for the first time since birth.
Maryjane could not face being separated from Annette. She wept
bitterly and fell ill. Annette assured her that they would always visit
each other in school. Their mother ensured that Annette was enrolled
in a nearby school.
The incident sobered Maryjane and she became more serious with her
studies. She never played pranks in school again. Her sister visited
her whenever she had time between classes and they hung out at the
school cafeteria together. At the end of the school year, Maryjane
emerged top of her class. Annette also took top position in her class.
That year, their mother took them on a summer vacation abroad.
Although she had raised them as a single mother, Arden took great
pride in the way her twins turned out. She was not ashamed of the
fact that they were a product of a casual fling with a visiting diplomat
from the Caribbean Island.
The man, Peter Thompson, was married and Elizabeth did not think it
would be proper to break another woman’s home since he only spent
one month in Nigeria on official duty.
When the children sought to know about their father, she came up
with this explanation: “Your father was a visiting sailor.
Unfortunately, by the time you were born, I lost touch with him.’’
Since then, however, Maryjane and Annette had secretly tried to locate
their father. They gathered data, asked questions and looked up every
Peter Thompson in phone books and other records. Their mother had
no idea that they were looking for their father.
One day, they were able to locate a man by that name on the yellow
pages but the man was listed as a diplomat from the Caribbean
Island and not a sailor as their mother made them to believe. They
eventually gave up the search and continued with their lives.
Arden worked in an advertising and public relations agency. As one of
the top managers, she was entitled to a lot of privileges including
foreign trips once a year. The company also made provision for
scholarship scheme for children of senior staff. After their secondary
education, Maryjane and Annette were placed on the company’s list
of beneficiaries. Both had wanted to study law but their mother kicked
against the idea. “Both of you cannot be in the same discipline. You
have to be separated at a certain point in your life, no matter how
dreadful that sounds. That is the only way you can grow up as
independent women,’’ she advised them.
So, while Maryjane chose medicine, Annette settled for law in different
universities.
“One thing I would not have you do is board the same flight home
whenever you are on holidays. When we travel out of the country we
can afford to board the same flight. When you are on vacation, don’t
wait for each other. I am not saying something bad would happen but
it is better to take precautions,” their mother also advised.
But the two tried as much as possible to stay close. They went to
each other’s school whenever they could get away. In her third year in
school, Annette met and fell in love with George, a 400 level medical
student. George was from the Niger Delta region and his family was
very influential. He was head over heels in love with Annette and
always said he could not wait for the semester to end in order to take
her home and introduce her to his parents.
The semester finally ended and Annette and George started making
preparations to travel to Delta State to visit his parents. George knew
Annette had a twin sister but he had not met her. Each time Maryjane
came around, George was either busy or out of campus.
Annette had insisted, however, that for the trip to Delta State,
Maryjane would have to accompany them. George was excited at the
prospect. He would finally get to meet Annette’s twin. They fixed the
trip for the Christmas holidays.
Arden knew about the whole arrangement because her daughter had
told her so much about the young man. She had also spoken to him
several times on phone and he sounded like a responsible man. She
was the one who suggested that Maryjane accompany her sister to
Delta State. The idea was for them to look after each other.
They travelled a week after their semester exams and Maryjane came
to school to join them. George saw her for the first time and to him
the resemblance was uncanny. “I would never be able to tell them
apart in a million years,” he told himself.
They boarded the morning flight and in 30 minutes, they arrived in
Delta State. The parents and relations of George were awed by the
twins and could not stop fussing over them.
Maryjane and Annette spent three days in Delta State. They were to
spend one week and then leave for Lagos to see their mother. But
things went horribly wrong.
To be continued....

Few weeks after the story of "fake miracles" scandal rocked a
pentecostal church in Akwa Ibom State, the man, Bishop David
Amoussou, who was fingered as the mastermind of the arranged
instant healing scam has again been embroiled in a very messy wife
snatching tango.
The City of Truth Chapel International, aka, Holy Ghost Embassy,
under the leadership of Bishop Israel Usoro ran into trouble when
some pastors of the church resigned and opted to blow the lid off the
wind of instant miracles blowing in each of the church service, which
they described as fake as beneficiaries of such miracles were hired
and paid. They had claimed that the “new form of evangelism” was
introduced to the church by Bishop Amoussou when he came as a
guest minister early in the year.
While the controversy surrounding the scandal is yet to abate, a man
who claimed that Bishop Usoro’s spiritual partner, that is Bishop
Davis Amoussou, has destroyed his family, stormed The Sun
Newspaper’s office and in tears narrated how the controversial Bishop
snatched his beautiful wife...
His words: “My name is Ndifreke Benson, I am reacting to your story
in Saturday Sun. When I read through the story, it was talking about a
certain prophet, a certain Bishop. I can remember it was this same so
called man of God that came with one man that comes from Ghana,
called Bishop David Amoussou. Bishop David Amoossou has already
taken my wife.
“He called me in May and said when he comes back in September, he
would take my wife and I would do nothing. And in September when
he came, I got a call from the police. In fact, for the three days that
he was in Uyo, my wife never slept at home. I only met my wife in the
police station, Ikot Akpan Abia, where she sat down with David
Amoussou and the other Pastor of Paul Bassey Street, Israel Usoro .
They accused me of coming to the hotel where they lodged with my
wife to kidnap them.
"Even the O.C state anti-kidnapping who knows me very well was
shocked over such accusation. It was the elder brother of my wife that
came to dismiss the case. He was even telling the police what David
Amoussou has done to his sister. My wife has three children.
“I brought her up 16 years ago before she got the job at NEPA. And
just because they have paid her severance allowance, David
Amoussou, got the information through the other Bishop, who brought
David Amoussou to come and cast a spell on my wife and took my
wife.
“Right now, my wife is half mad. She does not even know the brother
or the sister or listen to anybody or want to see me right now. My
wife has gone and they have rented a house somewhere and she is
living with David Amoussou. She is even planning to marry him. She
had called my friend to tell him that she would be sending a wedding
card to him. So, this is what these people are doing in Uyo. I am a
victim and the story has to be investigated properly.”
Asked whether he had ever made attempt to harass Amoussou over
his alleged relationship with his wife, the distraught Benson said “I
never knew him at all. All I knew was that my wife did not sleep at
home for three nights. And the day my wife was at the police, I was in
a business centre typing a document, and they claimed it was at that
time that I went to the hotel to kidnap them. I was shocked. That is
to show you that David Amoussou wants to kill me in order to take
my wife.”
He said the police had to quickly dismiss the kidnap case because
Amoussou himself said that somebody told him that he (Benson) is a
very dangerous person that was why he went to the police.
“My wife is under his custody . For over two months now, I have not
set my eyes on my wife. I have made all efforts to trace where she is
but she does not want to see anyone that knows her. The only call I
got was that of my friend who told me she was ready to print a
wedding card with David Amoussou. Some other people are even
telling me now that she has changed her name from Esther Ndifreke
Benson to Esther David Amoussou”, Benson lamented.
He said he had approached the Christian association of Nigeria, CAN,
and other notable Christian leaders like popular Rev Uma Ukpai to
help him retrieve his wife from the stronghold of Bishop Amoussou.
“I am handing everything to God. I have already discussed with CAN
to try and plead with David Amoussou to remove the spell he has cast
on my wife so that my wife can return home to take care of the three
children. I have talked to many high Bishops. I have talked to Uma
Ukpai as well as many others to help me talk to David Amoussou to
leave my wife alone.” Benson also said he was considering taking a
legal action if all other methods fail.
But reacting to the allegation:
The woman at the centre of the storm, Mrs Esther Ndifreke Benson,
said she is no longer married to Benson because he has been
accusing her of infidelity even when he does not have money to take
care of the family as a man. She vowed to go ahead and marry
Bishop Amoussou if Benson does not stop looking for her.
According to her: “The man, Ndifreke Benson, who came to you was
my husband, he is no more my husband. What really happened is
that, we got married in the year 2000; everything was going well and
before he met me, I am a Christian. We went to church together; I
embraced him because we were from the same place. But it is not
everything, because the Bible says that we wrestle not against flesh
and blood but against principalities and powers, against spiritual
wickedness in high places. It is not everything that I saw through my
marital life that I complained to anybody because it is for better, for
worse.
“I have passed through all kinds of things which I cannot just start
saying now but the one that pained me most was on the 7th of
October this year. He doesn’t go to church. He has been accusing me
of being impregnated by one pastor Enono of Life Builders Assembly,
Uyo.
“I don’t really know what happened because I was a nursing mother
then. They went to the police station then and I was called to testify.
You understand what I am trying to say. Is it a crime for me to
worship God? Is it a crime for me to go close to men of God? Or is it
a crime to worship God. I thought that he should be happy that I am
worshipping God. But at the end, what he will say is that I am
sleeping with these men of God.
“I endured it and never told my people what I was passing through.
The only person who knew what happened was my younger sister. It
is not just something that you will start telling people; that you are
being accused of adultery. I kept quiet. My mother was married till
death did them part and I had to stay in my marital home, which I
did. A lot of things happened, but I endured.”
She said it is the threat to her life that made her abandon the
marriage. “The only one that pained me most was on October 7, he
started beating me. If not by God’s grace, I would have been a dead
person by now. He started beating me that I was going out with one
Amoussou. That in fact, the man charmed me, that the man has been
using magical oil.
“Okay, I am going out with this man of God as you said, why not
release me to go, but you just wanted to kill me . He strangled me and
would have killed me if not for the knock on the door by my
neighbour? My neighbour knocked and he thought that it was the
landlord, he left me. At this stage, this is no more spiritual, I am
above it because I know that he that is in me is greater than he that
is in the world. But by strangling me, I was afraid.
“So what happened was that I used wisdom; I did as if I had settled
with him. He took me to work, I left. I had to run for my dear life. I
went to the office and took permission to go on leave, because I have
seen as they say death is not far. So I decided to leave, I left
everything I had toiled and labored for. What he is thinking that is
maybe I am going out with the pastor, but if he should tempt me,
even though I don’t want to marry again, if he tempts me, I will go on
and marry that man and he can’t do anything."
When contacted on all his three GSM lines, the man at the centre of
the storm, Bishop Amousou refused to pick his calls.

This bride has many reasons to be grateful to God as she and her
man almost got killed just minutes after their wedding, they narrowly
escaped death in an auto crash while on their way from the wedding
reception.
The accident involving a NNPC tanker, a cargo truck and two saloon
cars happened at about 4:45pm close to the Otedola bridge, Alausa,
on the Lagos/Ibadan Expressway, last Saturday.
The bride and her husband were said to have jumped out of their
car...
A Punch reporter who witnessed the accident said the NNPC truck,
while descending the slop from Alausa at top speed, could not hold
its break. It then ran into the first car and squashed the second one
against the cargo truck.
When the reporter got to accident scene, the groom was no where in
sight. His elder sister confirmed that they were coming from the
wedding reception of the couple when the unfortunate accident
happened.
She was seen kneeling down and thanking God for their escape but
refused to give the name of the couple.

Veteran and award winning actor Olu Jacobs and wife Joke Silva have
been married for 27 years now.
While most men would insist their wives change their last names
immediately, Mr Jacobs, in this new interview with NastyGist.Com
explained why he let his wife maintain her maiden name.
Since you got married, your wife has maintained her maiden
name. Why has she not adopted your own name?
She is her own individual. When I met her, she was an actress known
as Joke Silva so why should marrying me now deny her and her
audience her name. She is Miss Joke Silva who is Mrs. Joke Jacobs.
It is as simple as that. People now begin to say what they like. They
have even written that we are separated and all sort of stuffs. When
she is working, she is Joke Silva but she is Mrs. Joke Jacobs at
home.
Aside: Network in my area has been sooo poor since yesterday. I've
been on my laptop all day today but can't publish posts. Had to
switch from MTN to Airtel, still no major difference. Mbok, bear with
me.

Finally, seasoned producer, OJB Jezreel has landed in Nigeria months
after undergoing a successful kidney transplant in India.
Jezreel, who was earlier expected to return on Saturday, 7th December
2013, according to what I just learnt, actually breezed in on Thursday,
5th December 2013.
His return at an earlier date was arranged to make it a surprise for
everyone.
Sources say Jezreel is being lodged now in a hotel at an undisclosed,
secret location, not far from his Surulere, Lagos residence.
This also was to allow him have enough rest as he recuperates, to
avoid him being disturbed by fans who anxiously looked forward to
receive him.
The music producer returned with his wife, Mabel Okungbowa, who
donated one of her kidneys to save him.

Here is a brief excerpt of what Chidinma told a Punch report about
the scandal:
You eventually came into the spotlight and it opened doors to
controversies and scandals
I have been in the news lately. My manager told me that I am a
balloon on top of lots of needles. People want me to drop on those
needles and get deflated. He told me to be careful. The first time was
when my nude picture went viral. I actually went for a photo shoot for
my friend. I wore a tube dress. Some mischief makers actually
cropped off the lower part of the picture and posted it on the Internet.
It was as if I was nude. I wasn’t happy at all. I had that picture. I had
to post the real picture on the net and people now got convinced the
nude picture wasn’t original.
I thought that was the end, I didn’t know a bigger scandal was
coming…
You mean the séx video?
Oh yes. I woke up one morning and I was greeted on the internet with
‘Chidinma and séx tape’. I was worried primarily because of my
mother. I didn’t let her see the video but I had to show her the
photos. I didn’t want to go out that day. I couldn’t go out. But my
mum felt otherwise. She told me to ignore the mischief makers. I
almost took some actions but I thought against it. I met Sound
Sultan on a set. He told me, ‘Babe, you are now a star. I welcome you
officially into the industry.’ I trended for three days. Even people who
didn’t know me got to know me. My fan base grew.
And then, I was happy because more than 90 per cent of the public
didn’t believe I was the one in that video. There were people who
didn’t need to see the video to believe I couldn’t have done such
thing. I am just grateful to everyone who didn’t believe the story. My
twitter account was hacked and the people created another account.
They kept releasing nasty pictures and they were even responding to
the tweets as if I was the one doing it. I was just watching and
laughing. It put me in the spotlight. I used it for good.

The battle over which party will be in charge of the National Assembly
is still on. It seems the APC has made it in the House of Reps, just
waiting for the right time to make the announcement. Now the
political power tussle has shifted to the senate where 22 senators
elected on the platform of the PDP are said to be on their way to join
the APC, thus increasing the chance of the leading opposition party.
“As we speak, those of us who have made up our minds to seek
a new platform for our political future are not fewer than 22 in
this Senate,” said a PDP senator who's set to join APC.
Although the National Chairman of the embattled PDP, Bamanga
Tukur, had on Wednesday paid a visit to the Senate to beg the
leadership to stop their members from joining APC, but it ended as a
failed attempt.
One of the angry Senators thundered, as he walked out of the meeting
with Tukur in Abuja:
“Tukur did not know how I contested and won my election; he will not
also know how I will contest and win the next election,” adding that
2015 will be a big shocker for the PDP.
You may wish to know that PDP currently has 72 Senators, APC has
33, LP 3 and APGA 1. But with 22 of them now joining the APC, it
means the APC will now have 55, will PDP will be left with just 50.
Also, a credible source disclosed that the APC now have a confirmed
majority in the House of Reps. “The new arithmetic of the lawmakers
in the House is 137 APC members plus 57 new PDP members that
recently joined, making a total of 194 members.”

of allowances of all the ad-hoc staff.
To is to allow for inspection, copying and to enable APC fight its case
properly. The judge ordered INEC to do so urgently to enable APC, the
petitioner move expeditiously.
