Housewife In Court For Allegedly Using Razor Blade On Neighbour

A 40 year-old housewife, Patience Cosmos, on Tuesday appeared
before a Tinubu Magistrates’ Court, Lagos, for allegedly using a razor
blade to inflict wounds on her neighbour.
Prosecutor
Austin Orji told
the court that the accused, who lives at Ikota Housing Estate, Ajah,
committed the offence on Oct. 5, at 11:30 pm.
Orji said that the accused had a misunderstanding with her neighbour, Rose
Francis, and she used razor blade to inflict injury on the complainant.
“Out of anger with the complainant, Cosmos picked up a blade which she
used in cutting Rose on the head, hand, neck and chest,’’ he said.
Orji said the offence contravened Section 244(a) of the Criminal Law of
Lagos State, 2011.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that if convicted the accused
could be sentenced to three years imprisonment.
The accused pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Magistrate, Mrs S.K. Matepo, granted bail to the accused in the sum of
N50,000 with two sureties in like sum.
She adjourned the case to Nov. 18 for mention.
